I see several of that exact model stock for sale online, not sure about the manufacturer, though-

The Plainfields are generally considered some of the better commercial carbines, and probably THE best of those with cast receivers.

Was designed for paratroopers so the stock didn’t hinder them landing! That part I know because of my uncle.

Yes, it definitely falls into the "paratrooper" catagory, but doesnt match either the USGI or Plainfield commercial patterns. I suspect its an aftermarket accessory.

IiRC Plainfield offered that stock to the public. Reproing a GI folding stock was too expensive.

Could well be, but all the period Plainfield ad copy I see online shows this style-

The site you posted shows my exact one. It only gives me a year span but looks like it falls in it going off the number

Thanks! Purchased it from my uncle years ago. He passed this year so I’m trying to figure out what year all my stuff is to make it easier on my family if something happens to me.

Very cool. That one is newer. The ID number is stamped on a smooth flat surface and the collapsible stock is in the wood.
