I just want to point out that the OP put LCR in the poll, but put LCP in the first post. I currently carry a LCP and will continue to do so. I personally find the LCR a little to wide for pocket carry.

I believe the Kahr model number is P380, not PM380 as listed in the first post.

I just bought one, and that would be my choice. Why didn't I get a pocket 9mm as many have suggested? For me, it comes down to size and weight and convenience, and the Kahr P380 would be hard to beat in any of those three areas. I wanted to be able to comfortably pocket carry in jeans or shorts all the time. This fits the bill. All the reviews I've read or watched give it high marks for craftsmanship, reliability, and accuracy as well. If there's a downside, it's, of course, that the .380 ACP isn't as powerful as 9mm, but I've read the modern .380 defensive loads have performance approaching 9mm, and for times I'm especially concerned I'll stay close to my Glock 19 or shotgun.

And still not a single vote for the North American Arms 380. I picked mine up tonight and so far it looks like a very well constructed little gun.

How is the weight? I handled one and agree it looks well constructed, but it was very heavy compared to the Kahr. Of course, that could be a good thing in a pocket gun if it helps manage recoil.

I had one and in addition to feeling like I was carrying a brick in my pocket, having heavy recoil, being hard on my trigger finger and in addition to all that it was not reliable!

Just my experience and I'm sure others may have had better luck with the NAA, but I was sure glad to see it go.

Cost not a consideration? Maybe you could look at the micro desert eagle. Ive carried p32, p3at, and greatly prefer the mde.

Are the Makarov, Polish P-64 or Hungarian P-63 much more visible in a typical blue jean (etc) front pocket than the guns in the OP's list?

In my opinion, yes they are much more visible.

I carry a Beretta Nano in my pocket. Nothing less than a 9mm in the auto field. From your list, go with the Ruger LCR.

Since the opinions are all over the map, I'll tell you my favorite pocket-carry, and i carry it a lot:

S&W 637 2-1/2"bbl. Shooting DA I can actually keep it on 8-1/2x11" paper at 20yds, which is better than I can do with any of the other mentioned candidates.

My vote: None of the above.

Why not pocket carry a Glock 26? I manage to do it.

Im with STRIKEFIRE83 on this.. I pocket carry a G26 in a Uncle Mikes #3 pocket holster all the time if I dont feel like wearing a holster. Heck I even Pocket Carry a G19 sometimes in a similar Uncle Mikes. It can be done. TO follow along with the poll though, out of the three options, I would choose the Kahr380. But Why not the Ruger LC9? that a great defense pocket pistol, thats takes a very deliberate pull of the trigger, if its just sloshing around in a pocket, might as well.....

Pardon me for bringing this up.
Just a quick word; its generally considered bad internet etiquette to "hijack" someone else's thread. If you have an unrelated question, you should feel free to start your own thread. ;)

What is the best place to conceal a small handgun elsewhere (a fanny pack seems high profile), with quick access if you tuck in shirts on hot days?
To answer your question, there are a number of possible options. A fanny pack holster is one option. It may not be appropriate in some situations but in places where a fanny pack might not be uncommon its certainly a viable option. Another possibility is a "tuckable" holster (like the Crossbreeds Supertuck of similar) which allow you to tuck your shirt in over the gun and holster. A third option is pocket carry. This severely limits the gun you can carry (generally a small .380 or .38 spl, although there are a couple 9mm that are just barely in the "pocketable" category. The final option might be an ankle holster. This however would be the slowest option, only works when you are wearing long pants, and you are again limited to very small guns.

Hope that helps!

Holy cow it looks like you're carrying a novel in each pocket! It doesn't print, but man that looks like you literally have half of a brick in each pocket.

To each his own, though. Everybody has to carry and dress around what they're comfortable with.

It would never work for me unless I wear clown pants because my thighs are relatively muscular and my waist is on the small side at 30".

Of those three I'd prefer the LCR with slimmer grips like I previously had (the hogue tamers are pretty thick IMHO). I ditched pocket carry because I was always worried about drawing from seated positions, particularly with a seatbelt because my belt tends to cover my pocket opening.

Appendix carry solves my worries.
