Stolen Car Report Triggers Pursuit
ARLINGTON, Texas -- A 41-year-old man who led police on a chase through Fort Worth and Arlington was shot to death by police after pulling into an apartment complex in Arlington on Wednesday.
Don Henry Burns reportedly shot at officers, who returned fire, according to police.
"As soon as we got into this (chase), he started shooting," said Sgt. Will Johnson, an Arlington police spokesman.
The chase began after a report that a Ford Bronco was stolen in Forest Hills. Burns was also wanted in connection with multiple armed robberies in Fort Worth, Johnson said.
He reportedly had attempted to steal several other vehicles as part of a pursuit with Fort Worth police and later with Arlington police that involved heavy gunfire, officials said.
