Polish P-64 - What an accurate beast

I use a Don Hume Makarov holster, but many Walther PPK holsters should work as well as long as they're long enough or open-ended. The P-64, externally, has almost the exact same dimensions as the PPK. The only difference is the barrel is around 1/4" longer. The Don Hume holster only cost $25, but it's lasted me over 5 years at this point and is comfortable. It's the holster I've always gone back to even after trying other alternatives.
Cool, thanks - I'll have to check it out!

Does anyone know who is offering the 1895 Nagant revolver? Classic had a run on this unusual gun, but sold out and reordering is taking forever. Their price at the time was $99.00 including the holster and cleaning tools. Thanks in advance for your help.

I haven't seen one around for two or three years. There are some on Gunbroker.com, but they seem to be going for over 200.

You might have better luck asking the question in a new thread in the "Revolver" forum. Welcome to our little hangout!

Seen a couple locally lately for about $250. Been itching to get my hands on one too.

Good luck!

The last shipment of Nagants that I saw was a batch imported by RGuns in November 2014. All the usual curio-and-relic dealers had them, and everyone was charging $200 and up. That seems to be the new "normal" price for Nagant revolvers in very good condition.

RGuns still has a few early models (date range 1907-1910) listed on their website, but they're asking a ridiculous $325 for them (which probably explains why they are the only ones still in stock).

Nagant revolvers disappeared during the Banic of 2013 when folks were buying any gun they could find. The cheap price of Nagants made them desirable to less than knowledgeable gun buyers.

I expect for them to make there way back onto the gun market as the owners discover how hard it is to find the special ammunition the Nagant uses.

My modest collection of 9x18's.

Nice collection!

Here is my current Mak Pack : I've eliminated the middle man (original Mak) and have the high end (high capacity, heavier, and accurate) CZ-82, and low end (smaller, lighter CC) P-64 . OBTW, belt slide holsters with Perry Suspenders for CC is OK by me.

Might be open to other Maks if I have a Mak Attack! The 9x18's are ALL great!
And good buys currently!

I have two P64 pistols. They are hefty and accurate guns. Very robust and well-built. You get a lot of bang for your buck with the P64. A lot of people are going to kick themselves in a year when they're all out of stock and they didn't buy one or two of them.

I too have a represenative of each of the Com bloc countries, the ones i fire least are a pair of P64's that even with spring kits and Marashall grips are unpleasant to shoot. Nicely made and easily concealable but not even a consideration for concealed carry for this old guy. For informal shooting i prefer the CZ 82 for fun, accuracy, reliability and excellent handling.

Mine was unpleasant with my old Marschall grips, but the new ones drastically improve it. No stinging or discomfort when shooting, and the trigger is perfectly fine. I put 3 mags through it back to back, no problem.

I shot a Bersa Thunder .380 with a genuinely awful trigger. The double action pull was extremely long and heavy. It was at least as heavy as the P-64 with an 18-pound hammer spring, but much longer to the point where you started to lose leverage and it became very hard to pull.

Honestly, in my opinion, the Bersa may hold 1 more round but the P-64 is a better gun. It's smaller, weighs the same, and fires a slightly more powerful round. And it's a quality military piece.

You are right!

You too are right, but you both can't be right!
Can you ?

What can I say? I know my guns, and I know how to tinker with stuff to make it work.

I put the heaviest recoil spring on mine and the lightest hammer spring. It helps tremendously. I also used SiteGlo paint on the sights, making even those small sights quite visible.
