It strikes me that we're taking the wrong tack on this. Rather than "legalize" this ir that, which gives the impression of changing the natural order of things (ie illegal drugs), we should be saying we want to REPEAL the laws that made thr drugs illegal, thus returning the situation to its natural state (ie legal as long as you only hurt yourself).
We always want pass a law to fix something; what we should be doing is getting rid of some of the laws.

The only problem is that it takes an actual passage of law in order to repeal law. Just like the eighteenth amendment to the constitution is still there, the wording about slaves is still there too. They've just been superceded.
So, since we don't have a house of repeals, congress has to make law in order to repeal law.
Heh, it's off target, but how does having an additional house sound. Structured like the senate or house, but only having the power to remove law, not pass law. How does it sound?

What I would like to see is a constitutional change to require a 3/4 vote of both the House and Senate in order to pass any new legislation, plus a governor's signature.
The exception would be laws which have the effect of repealing an existing law (with nothing to replace it); they would only require a 1/4 vote of either house and no signature.

if drugs are legal, we dont have to jail people, cartels/ terroirsts etc lose money.
i dont particulary want to see crack legal, but really -
is the law what is stopping you from smoking it?

i learned very well what the effects of these things were, and although i will puff some herb, i have NEVER touched coke, heion, anything like that.
alcohol is way worse for your body and mind.

there is the problem of dealing with crackheads and other users wh oget "sick":, or more like psychotic without their drugs, and cant function in society , become criminals.
well guess what? free up some space in the jails from users, and give muggers, thieves, etc HARD TIME. thne you get rid of the real hardcore problems, and regular drug users now would be gettting taxed, the taxes go to all kinds of things.
look at the cigarette taxes in CA- they keep charging us more to smoke, then
(scams aside) use the money to batter me with QUIT ALREADY! messages.
and it helps.
to often it seems the people who want to outlaw certain Vices or lifestyles (guns not included in this) are older parents who are worried their children will be infected by some degenerate.

I know firsthand that the WOD is not working; these drugs are everywhere! In the schools; rich suburbs, poor ghettos, and backwoods areas.
It would be a great thing if people could buy quality weed at 20$ an ounce or a few tabs of LSD for 5bucks. I don't care about hard drugs; they should be legal but it makes no difference to me.
Buying drugs today often involves dealing with shady people and getting ripped off. With legal drug shops people can avoid that and buy it in nice little packages with little Smoking Tips and such. People that want to grow their own should be able to so they can get the best strains and make honey oil and stuff.
Im a bit fed up with peoples lack of basic drug info.
its imposible to smoke LSD as its destroyed by heat. Its a shame that the media has brainwashed people into thinking LSD is a hard drug like coke or heroin when infact its harmless and on the same level as shrooms and weed
