Poll - What type of reloading press do you use primarily based on round count? (Even though you have multiple types)

Single Stage/Arbor/APP/Co-Ax/etc, Lee Classic/Turret or Progressive?

RCBS Rockchucker single-stage for 380 acp, 38 special, and 357 magnum here, really like it.
I use a Lee Classic Cast when developing loads, but when planning on a normal run (400-1200), I'll usually set up the progressive. When doing larger runs (1500-2000+), I wouldn't even consider doing it on a single stage

I believe that will be the "Separation Line" in press usage. I know very few mass-production reloaders who still primarily use a single stage press.

1500-2000 rounds is about what I'm reloading annually. And I don't shoot everything I reload in a year. I still have loads I put together three or four years ago waiting for just the right occasion to use them.

Hi...
I primarily use a RockChucker for reloading big bore revolver cartridges and some full power .357Magnum cartridges. I just prefer priming off press on my APS bench mounted priming tool and dumping powder charges with my Little Dandy powder measure.
I am retired and have the time to load on a single stage and I enjoy it. Usually load in batches of 200-500 at a time.
My son reloads most of our .357Mag and all of our semi auto pistol cartridges on two Hornady LNL progressives. He loads our .223 on one of the LNL presses as well. He loads our rifle cartridges on a RockChucker Supreme.

My normal runs are 50 to 100 rounds, so no need for higher tech on my end, I am content. I definitely see where the progressives win on the higher numbers.

Single stage for the first 30+ years of reloading. Santa brought a Lee Classic Turret a few years ago.

All the handgun rounds get loaded on the LCT. Most of the rifle rounds too.

I would estimate 80% of all my rounds are loaded on the LCT. The remainder on a Lee Classic Cast single stage.

That, basically, in a nutshell. I do some large quantity rifle assembly on the progressive, but that is after all the prep work has been done on the singles.

Right. I prep the 204 Ruger cases on a single stage but do the actual loading on a progressive. 204 Ruger is the only rifle cartridge where I load a high number at one sitting.

Single Stage, Turret or Progressive?
Lyman All American Turret Press, still use it, bought it at age 14 ( now age 83 3/4 ), then Hornady Projector Progressive Press, following R.C.B.S. Rock Chucker Single Stage Press ( for case forming Magnum cases, 416 Hoffman, 450 Ackley ) then Dillion XL650, and Redding T-7 Turret Press, all used continually until NO MORE PRIMERS.
