Well with all the news about Democrats; Clinton, Obama, and Richardson running for the presidency, I was wondering who the Republicans were offering. I'm a Democrat for the most part while being pro-gun and abortion rights so I'm a mixed bag. I do want to know more about the Republican candidates and see if you guys can paint me a picture of where they stand. I don't remember hearing any news about republicans stating their intention for the office but I assume Guliani and McCain are going and supposedly Gingrich is a possibility. So fill me in folks. Thanks.

Romney

Was an overall good Governor of MA had to deal with an 84% Democrat legislature so he had some serious resistance. Balanced the budget making some tough decisions that had to be made. So economically I give him high regard.

Abortion - Used to be Pro-Abortion. Got involved in some kind of conference on it. Turned anti-abortion after what he learned there.

Guns - No real track record as the bills he got were pretty much a wash. Claims to be "Pro-2nd Amendment" so I guess that depends on his definition of Pro 2A. He was at a gun show in FL recently and from what I hear he only visited the tables/displays presented by the traditional hunting gear. Apparently you won't see him with a handgun or AR/AK/FAL/etc.

So far other than Newt I see him as the best Republican. He may very well be more electable than Newt. He's definately less a RINO than McCain or Guliani.
