Looking for your opinion in this scenario...also what choice would you make?

You can shoot your primary weapon and your backup sweapon almost equally well up to 50 feet. Situation calls for you to hand a weapon to your SO to watch your back and to help fend off all boarders. Let's say you're in a location where there is three or more BG's with guns..you and your SO can't escape immediately. You may have to shoot it out. The BGs are inadvertently flanking your position.

Since you can shoot each weapon equally well up to 50 feet, do you hand your primary weapon to the SO so that they have better odds of hitting a BG or do you hand the shorter barreled BUG to your SO so that you might have better odds of hitting the BGs closing in on you?

What if your SO shoots better than you?

What would you do?

My SO does not like guns, and will not learn to use them. Our kids (9, 6 and 5 years old) are no where near the ability of coping or helping with a "three or more BG's with guns" situration. So I have one gun, I'm the only one in the house that is able to us it, and it is the back up defense. Primary defense is living in a low crime area where a SHTF natural distaster is unlikely to occur. I know this is hoping the worst won't happen, when it can (even if the odds are low) but this is the best plan we can have for the time being. When the kids are older, and show some intrest I'm hoping to get a better plan.

Good points all

LJ,
Good point. I was in a similar boat a while ago. When my wife and I first started our life as a married couple(over 25 years ago) I recall asking her to watch my back when I was loading my daughter into her baby seat and when I turned around, she was dutifully watching my back (literally). English is her second language. Now she carries her own CCW and knows how to use it.

Sam,
I can agree with you because my wife does carry her own pistol and her own BUG. I was just curious as to what other people would do. Now, I love it because she is barely 5'2" tall and can outshoot all my shooter friends. They are surprised because she is so petite and looks like the recoil would knock her over.

Thanks for your input all.

Hi Express,
Isn't life is great when you have a good woman? :D
Mine shoots very well when I can get her on the range.
She does not look very iintimidating, but I have hustled a lot of money on her shooting.

Sam
