Proof of Glock Perfection

And the point of this is...?

Everyone here knows that GLOCKs are just machines and do fail at times.

This might have been a bad batch. Something was off somewhere.

I owned a G 26 that I bought used and never once had a problem. Also no other GLOCK that I have fired has ever failed on me.

So I am no less enthusiastic about GLOCKs now than before I clicked the link.

Are they really anti-Glock, or just not drinking the kool-aid?

Are you claiming the report is bogus?

The point, file it away for next time some nimrod pipes into a thread of a person with a problem to say "should have gotten a Glock".

--wally.

I don't Dean Speir is anti Glock. He is pretty proud of the G21 he owns. He does not like the fact that Glock prefers to issue upgrades versus recalls for problems with specific models. It seems that instead of notifying customers of affected models they wait for a customer to encounter a problem before they issue an upgrade.

Glocks are generally good guns :what: (Yes, I did really say that!):what:
the major gripe I have is not with the guys, but the company.
(I'll exclude .40's)
Their lack of truthfulness, hiding/denying recalls, paying off people to keep things quiet.
(I know a cop who got a bullet scar and a check... he is holding to the agreement and won't tell me about it.)
-Feel free to disreguard if you wish.

And (Personal rant) if it's perfection, why has my 19 jammed more than my 1911's?

Yes, the company has alot to do with the gun... I didn't think so till I got a Kahr...

Funny, I've had my Glock 22 for five years now and not one malfunction. Still my duty weapon. I also have a Glock 33 that gives me no problems whatsever. Maybe it's a bad batch. The only handguns I've ever seen fail over and over again are the S&W Glock Knockoffs.

YAWN...

If you notice that Mr. Speir has gone to great pains to document all the cases of failure in a Glock that he can. Some of these "failures" are admitted to be due to bad ammo. That leaves a handful of pistol failures with no conclusive evidence as to why any of them failed.

Let's see, 10 failures out of several million in use...that sounds like pretty good odds to me.

I love it when internet geniuses discover the same six failures and post them here as if it the latest freakin news flash. Are they so insecure in their own armament that they get jollies posting the same 0.001% failure rate as if that is a bad thing.

Thanks Wally, you just proved by finding the absolute best site about Glock failures and how pitiful the results are just how great the Glock design is.

Now, I need to get back to my G23, 1911, P245 and M67 because at least they like to play together. We all know that only people who own a G23, 1911, P245 and M67 are perfect!

EDIT: I almost forgot, Speir's site has virtually no information as to what lead up to the few failures that he has managed to dig up. Some are just pictures or videos with no background whatsoever. Who knows how many rounds have been fired through it already, what loads were used/abused, whether it ever was cleaned or not, etc.

After reading these same incidents year after year I still have not seen one incident scientifically documented as to shooting history, cleaning and care, and failure analysis. You would think that if Glocks blow up as often as some like to portray them that there would be a mountain of documentation, lawsuits, and scientific analysis as to why the Glock design is inherently poor.

Get over your plastic envy and go shoot your favorite pistol whatever it is.

And? Nothing's perfect, especially for the price of a Glock. So we move on...

FWIW, I have an E-series "frame-rail-non-recall" G-17. A frame rail finally broke, about 7500 rounds or so. It's at Glock right now, getting a replacement frame and night sights. My Glock failed too. Such is life.

They have a blown up .40 caliber glock on display at the gun shop. Does that mean I won't buy a glock? No because that would be dumb. There are too many good stories that a few bad aren't going to make me avoid them.

sigs rust, glocks blow up, 1911's are not reliable, hk's are over priced, and on and on and on. with proper care and use, most quality guns do not have many problems, but all gun makers produce a lemon from time to time. in my limited experience, glocks have performed very well.

IMHO the Glock 17/19/26/34 are the best 9mm pistols made.

Should have gotten a Glock

YES you should have:D

I'm not a fan of the Glock .40, but...the defect has been fixed on teh higher calibers. I prefer a Sig or HKin a .40 and almost any 1911 in a .45. My brands of loyalto are Kimber, Springfield and S&W with Colt in the group because of the name. Others have better warranties.

Whether they called it a "recall" or an "update" or whatever, has GLOCK in fact changed the chamber/ramp, etc., on their non-9mm pistols, and if so how? I'm not disputing this, but wondering if there is some hard info somewhere about this subject.

Everyone already knows Glocks are just outdated M&P's anyway!!!

+1

GLOCKS are great pistols...period.
I would confidently carry one if I didn't like my M&P40 better (ergonomically superior IMO). I have fired a few GLOCKS (G19 and G22) and every time I pulled the trigger, it went bang and a bullet exited the barrel and struck somewhere pretty close (well, I thought it was pretty close:uhoh: )to where I intended it to strike. Mr. Speir's website is entertaining and I do not believe there are any half or non-truths on it. There are however, only a few cases of KB he's been able to post.

"The only handguns I've ever seen fail over and over again are the S&W Glock Knockoffs."

my sw9ve never jammed with brass ammo(500+ so far). it will jam with steel or aluminum case ammo but these jams where easily fixed by pulling the slide back a little. not a show stopper like my ruger p89 or p95. those rugers lock the **** up when it jams.

Good link. The truth is that most quality made handguns are reliable to a limit. The Glock is no better.

My old G works just fine !

I bought a factory rebuilt G22 in july '99. This pistol, a non -rail model, has never missed a beat in about 1200 rounds. I have learned to trust this one. A year later i bought a new Sig P226 9mm with a defective firing pin. I noticed little circle shaped marks in the center of the primers on the spent rounds. In spite of that, this one has never mafunctioned ever. A family member has a G26 that out shoots my Sig every time. Go figure. Enough cops are patrolling with these things these days, most of them must work ! The only thing i have to complain about is that my tri lux night sights are dimming. Im thinking of treating my old G to wolf mag springs, just for extra piece of mind. Can anyone comment on that idea ?

That's why I have this .40S&W:

Later on I'll get the G22-23-27...not in that order of course.

THEN THIS DEPARTMENT HAS EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS FAILURE TO EJECT, AND STOVEPIPE ISSUES WITH MOST OF THESE WEAPONS.
I hope they are training their handgun jamming drills.
