My wife and newborn girl (a future idpa'er) was released from the hospital today. My wife was admitted Tuesday to start educing labor. I used the hospitals wireless service throughout the week, which I was on thehighroad.org and other gun related websites many times. I tired today and could not access thehighroad due to the site being blocked by the Hospital internet administration because of "weapons."

What a bunch of bull.

On a good note, mommy and baby are healthy. I can't wait to get my daughter into shooting. I have big plans for her being an expert in IDPA.

Yeah... it really sucks when a company puts limits on services they provide for free.

Seriously though, it's not a big deal... pretty common actually. It's just a checkbox in the "do not allow" column that their IT guys check off as a matter of policy. They also turn off sex related sites and a bunch of other categories.

If you want better access to the interwebs, just use the cellular data connection you paid for. Should be no biggie.

Oh, and... congratulations on the new addition to the family!

...don't mind me...just wanted to rant.

I figure someone in the hospital administration thought it would be beneficial to censor internet service due to the recent Sandy incident.

I am going to close this, mostly because it is a pretty repetitive topic that brings out a lot of internet haters, rants and generally unhelpful information.

With that being said, like it or not, it really isn't "public" access. The Hospital owns and pays for it, and as a result they can do what they want with it. I would bewilling to bet an awful lot of money that you can't watch porn on their signal either. Point is, their system, their rules.

Now, obviously, you can choose to a certain extent where you go based on what they allow or don't allow, but typically the hospital isn't one of them.

Of much more obvious importance, congratulations on your new baby! Thats good stuff, dude.
