Don't need to make my own caps. Have several thousand Remington #11 caps bought prior to the Obama will outlaw muzzleloader ammo panic for $2.99 per hundred.
It's order online or buy subs. That's the reality of it today in 2021.Three points to be made: Just read an article from as chemist who says all muzzle loading powders are corrosive, some more, some less, even 777. So regardless, most guns have to be cleaned on a regular basis. Point 2: A kicker duplex load is a good idea to guarantee ignition. Though I use some Goex for a starter, I have also ground down some Pyrodex to do the same. Finally, sounds like Goex is history, warehouse fire and now Hodgden wants to close them down or sell. Now what are you going to shoot? I have only seen Goex BP for sale in Wisconsin, no Swiss or any other BP.
Order online until they outlaw that, then I guess we have to make our own. I'll miss Olde Eynsford but regular Goex I wont because I haven't bought any in years because it's the dirtiest stuff you can buy. If people are shooting that no wonder they complain about black powder being nasty. I mostly shoot Olde Eynsford or the imported powders anyway so I'll just be shooting Swiss once the Olde E supply runs out.Three points to be made: Just read an article from as chemist who says all muzzle loading powders are corrosive, some more, some less, even 777. Goex sucks.
You can believe it all you want, and if it doesn't apply to you, thats fine, but don't suggest it to others. Lots of people don't get around to cleaning, even the very aggressive types.
-Yes. I actually like Pyrodex, But I do feel like new shooter need to know. I clean VERY quickly after cleaning, so Pyro works fine.Point taken. What works for me in my area may not work for somebody else in another area. I still say it's no harder to clean than real bp. Swiss anyway. Area shouldn't affect that.
The reality is that many of us have seen pyro destroy guns.
