My wife is up for renewal for her concealed carry license. She never carries. I mean never (she carried my weapon for me one time when I needed her to, once). But she said she likes the idea of being able. She tested 3 years ago with my old Bersa 380. Since then I bought her a Glock 26 4Gen that she liked the feel of and could rack.
Well she can't rack the Glock any longer. Don't go there on technique, etc.
I did some searching and we did some testing. In one of my LGSs she could rack a Taurus 92, but it was big. We are in Houston for the Christmas and I took her to Gander Mountain. After the long wait, she got to handle the Beretta 92FS and did not like it. I took her to the other end of the size spectrum and got her to try out the Sig P238. She easily racked it and liked the feel of the gun. I had her try out the 9mm version, the P938, but she did rack it as easily. Bummer.
We have tried out a few others, but the Sig P238 won out. I ordered her one with the rosewood grips and the inexpensive sig laser sight.
Really had hoped I could have got her the 9mm for ammo's sake, but I am hearing the shooting experience for the .380 version is pretty nice.
