Can using too much Lemi Shine cause cases to come out a darker color. I cleaned a batch today and I put in (spilled) about twice as much Lemi Shine as usual.
I've attached a pic of one that I did today (on the left) with one that I used the normal amout of Lemi Shine (on the right).
As far as I know everything else was the same.

I don't think it would weaken the brass except maybe at some extreme examples. I have heard people say they got discolored brass by using too much but I've never experienced that myself. I've also heard people say that using warmer water also contributes to discoloration.

When I take my brass out of the media, I drop it into a tub of water that has a squirt of LemiRinse in it (just found it next to the LemiShine at the grocery store) for just a couple minutes before rinsing with clean water. I can't say this does any good but it might be why I've never had any discoloration issues in tens of thousands of cases cleaned.

I think it must have been the Lemi Shine. It looked like this when I opened the tumbler. Oh well. I guess I'll just have to shoot it up so I can clean it again. Poor me. :)

(wonder if it will stay this color?)

If you use too much lemishine it will discolour the brass. It only takes 1/4 teaspoon per batch.

I find that letting it set in the mixture after the tumbling stops for any length of time will also allow the cases to darken. I now rinse well immediately to prevent this.
