I'm going to get a Glock for my wife to CCW and am thinking of either 9mm (Glock 19) or .357SIG (Glock 32). If there are any shooters who have the .357SIG Glock, can you tell me a little about it?

My concerns are as follows:

Feeding reliability - I have to wonder about that shouldered case. Does it feed & eject reliably? I have heard of no problems so far, but I still wonder.

Recoil - How managable is the recoil of the .357SIG in the compact Glock 32 package? How does it compare to the Glock 19 in 9mm?

Thanks for your input!:D

Basically, .357 SIG gives you the mag capacity of a .40 with worse recoil and flash (than the .40), but about the same terminal effect as a 9mm.

In other words, you give up capacity and control compared to a 9, and you give up terminal effect and control compared to a .40. It's a solution looking for a problem.

Temporary cavity is bigger than the 9mm, but recovered diameter is almost the same, so the actual size of the actual hole will be only a bit bigger.

The shouldered case will feed more reliably than a straightwall case in theory, but in practice, it's really hard to make a Glock jam. I'd suggest getting a G19 or G26. The increased flash, blast, and recoil of the .357 SIG will only make it harder for your wife to learn how to shoot.

Bottleneck pistol cartridges actually feed more reliably, I thought.

I like .357 SIG, but it's probably not for a new-er shooter. Can be $$, too.

Loud.

i have shot the .357sig in a sig. i did not shoot it as well as the 9mm. theway it was put to me is: it's a 9mm bullet in a .40 case. the cartrige has a snap to it when it is fired. i like the 9mm better
