Range Bag Recommendations?

The large nylon range bag I bought from S&W about 10 yrs ago is starting to get a bit rough, with holes getting worn in it. Since I am adverse to having a gun or box of ammo suddenly pop out of it and clatter to the ground (probably in my home parkinglot of all places) I figure I've gotton my moneys worth out of it. Time for a new bag.

Any suggestions? Any good online sites - probably the usual suspects like CDNN/Midway etc as well as the major firearms manufacturers.

Any preferences - nothing too expensive. Its a range bag, not a Rolex.
 
I recommend finding one with a light interior. Black nylon bags become a black hole for blued magazines, sight tools, black flashlights, cell phones, etc.
 
I use a diaper bag.
Works very well.
Low profile (dark green canvas that says "Eddie Bauer"), lots of pockets, less expensive than a range bag.
 
Some People...

...favor containers that don't advertise "firearm." I used to use a Waller Range Bag until the zipper finally failed after years of carrying enough tools in it for a small gunsmith's shop. Now I use a large plastic Black & Decker tool box of similar size that I picked up for a few bucks at Wally World - it even has holes for a padlock.
 
I just picked up a 2 gun bag from Tommy's gun pack along with a couple of pistol sleeves just because they were 60% off. I'm impressed by the quality of material and workmanship and am very happy with the product. I used to have a cheap bag from UTG I purchased from Midway - the tommy's bag was actually cheaper on sale and is 5 times the product.

It doesn't scream 'gun bag' either.

I have a Midway bag that was great deal, but I'm thinking about switching to a Black and Decker toolbox on wheels at Walmart for $25.
 
I've been using a Dillon range bag for about fifteen years. It does say Dillon on the outside and not Million Mom March. :p Before I started to reduce my range time I considered one of the wheeled tool boxes because I was hauling so much stuff to the range. Never found one that would fit my needs and car.

Dillon just redesigned their range bag and it now goes for a hundred bucks. Probably worth it if it fits your needs.

My gun club has covered shooting places and is generally well paved so a wheeled cart would work well there. Other clubs I have shot at have more gravel/smooth dirt to deal with and a wheeled cart would have problems at times.

I just won a range bag and I started to use it, It's make by Glock. It has 2 Pistol compartments But dividers so you can add more if you would like. I keep a small amount of tools, Rem oil, Belt, Lock,and what ever else you want. It has a front area for the mags.
 
Check the straps

I use a canvas electricians tool bag that I bought from a bargain store for 7 bucks. I should of gotten a dozen because the way the shoulder straps are sewn on is very sturdy. I had a previous bag and the straps tore off very quickly. 2 or 3 pistols and 600 rounds of ammo can get heavy.

Smith & Wesson gave me mine, while it is a great bag had it not come with the gun purchase I don't think that it would have been worth the price they charge on the website.
 
I don't know if they carry them anymore, but I bought a range box at Wal-Mart quite a while ago. It is about the size of a large tackle box. It has a foam shelf on the top with foam on the inside of the lid, with plenty of storage underneath. I can easily fit 4 pistols on the top shelf. I love it. I can keep hearing protection, stapler, 3 boxes of ammo, eye protection, and magazines in the bottom.
 
I use an army surplus tool bag. Heavy canvas, good construction. I bought a few when they were on sale at my local surplus store. Brand new, they were about $12. Bought a bunch in olive green and black. They come in very handy for a lot of things.
 
My favorite is the Midway bag. For $39, it is a lot of bag for the money. It is so good that I am going to buy another for an airline carry-on bag.

I still have a large tool bag on wheels, but I prefer the Midway bag. Mine came with 2, single gun bags inside. On one outside compartment there are pockets in which I carry 10-12 mags. In other outside compartments, I have 2 pair of shooting glasses, water bottles, cleaning tools, and more. Inside, I carry ammo, more mags, the various guns I will shoot at the range, and hearing protection for 2 people (in case someone goes to the range with me).

I use a bag from Bass Pro designed as a tackle box that has all sorts of compartments arranged around the outside, including a sunglasses case. It comes with several plastic boxes that I use for my cap and ball revolver stuff. Works great with plenty of room.
 
I use a Military Surplus Avaitors Kit bag that was designed to carry a pilots helmet and other misc. items, it works great it is strong to carry a couple hundred rounds of ammo, magazines, hearing protection, targets and everything else I need.
