Can anyone explain to me the difference between their "Katana" AR and every other AR on the Market? Does the Red Jacket logo make it shoot more accurately?:p
Actually I like the show, just for the guns. Goofy? Yeah. Impractical? Maybe. But it's shows like this and Top Shot that get my young ones into guns, which is good enough for me. When it gets goofy it's a good time to educate my kids about certain points about firearms. More power to 'em. I don't see how many seasons they could last, though. American Chopper started off more real, and then developed into that kind of mock reality show that is so prevalent on History and Discovery. These guys just started out with the Mock Reality from the beginning.

I don't understand why if so many of you hate the show, why do you watch it? When I find a show annoying I don't watch it.

Can't say as I've ever watched a whole episode as I tend to roll My eyes so far back I flip over backwards.I suppose it's like watching something like "Worlds Dumbest".Plus,It gives me something to complain about.

It's ENTERTAINMENT. For some it is amusing and for others it may be educational to some small amount but for me, as I said in a previous post I just want to support any firearms show that shows producers that there is an audience and to encourage them to possibly produce more shows that “we” approve of.

I watched most of an episode yesterday. They had made a gun in a box. It was a gun that folds into what looks like a box. The gun can then be flipped out to use is an SD situation.

I guess the idea is that waling around the woods with a box in your hands won't look intimidating and yet one would have a firearm available to them.

I wonder, legally, where this contraption fits into CCW laws?

Some mention that this show might attract new members into our sport. Actually I see that these guys might actually make poster children for the other side.

I watch sometimes, so when I get asked stupid questions, I know why they are asking it.
That 1000yd Ak never did go 1000 yds.

Not sure about the CCW or the ATF ideas of AOW.. but Magpul introduced the folding Glock at the 2008 Shot Show. Magpul FMG-9 . However, after 2 years of not showing up on the market, Magpul finally released it as an Airsoft device.. :banghead:

That's exactly what I do. Someone earlier said that not watching it is the same as supporting anti gun groups though.

Okay, saw it for the first time yesterday...actually watched 6 or 8 episodes while I read. Sorry, I probably identify with the rednecks in the show, but I liked it. Yes, some of the guns they create are a bit out there, but others are pretty darned cool. In however many episodes, saw at least 2 that I want. And the history and look of the Maxims and Tommyguns etc are pretty cool...even if it hurts to see them chop them up.

Watched it last night, they made a machine gun mount on a motor cycle handle bar and painted it with some goffy dragon pic, who are they going to market that to gay hells angles. Don't get me wrong the show has its moments but it looks like a answer in search of a problem, or reinventing the wheel. I can't figure out why you would want a quad machine gun (except to get a head of the jones') or a lunch box gun. But some of this stuff is kind of neat if not a bit useless.

After looking at all the babes in this thread I forgot my point. Now I remember 1000 yrd AK-47 in 7.62x39?? No Way ,,, What the NVA would have done for that. The Rachael Ray nail gun was some funny stuff, atleast she figured it out after those two future mensa members didnt. Back on subject I wouldnt mind getting a suppressed AK,they might be off the wall but better than Jersey Shore

I've stopped watching because I'm out of time for it. The roommates don't like guns and in order to maintain peace, I have to sacrifice that.

I like the idea of the show....but, im just not sure I can watch it anymore. The daughter is driving me crazy. Her voice is like nails on a chalk board and her "my **** don't stink" attitude is almost unbearable.

and gun snobs. Read the previous 4 pages and the few other closed threads here, and you'll get the idea of who likes and who doesn't like the show.

Understood! Actually I won't post on a thread without reading all of the previous posts. I don't want to duplicate something that has already been said if possible, and if a thread is too long for me to read through given the amount of time I have I'll pass on it unless it is of vital interest to me.

I enjoy the show a lot from an entertainment perspective. They get things wrong a lot though, most notibly "inventing" the masterkey under barrel shotgun, "inventing" an uglier version of the FMG-9 (folding gun), using training 40mm rounds and claiming them to be HE, etc. Also, I'm no stick in the mud, but my god the lax safety they showcase in their shop is a little scary. They are constantly flagging each other, test firing weapons that may or may not turn into a grenade by hand, etc.

But all in all, its entertaining, I learn a little bit, amuse myself by picking out flaws, and its damn funny sometimes.

They had something very similar on Pawn Stars. It was a pinfire that was over a hunnert years old IIRC...

Last time I watched it was at the end of the show, and they were trying to get a quad-MG42 rig to work. Really? QUAD-MG42's? Sorry, but I really don't see the point in that. Besides, there can't be very many transferrable MG42's in the world, why waste four of them on some goofy idea for a rich guy? And where did they get all that linked 8mm ammo they were whizzing away? Not to mention just blazing away up into the air like fools. That dude must have a helluva bankroll if he can afford that much private land where they can send bullets flying all over the sky, seen 'em do it with a .50 M2 also. Not the safest bunch for sure.

Red Jacket can build machine guns legally. They just cant sell them to civillians. The 1000 yard AK was in 7.62x51mm.

That seems to confuse some people. They can build machine guns and sell them to other dealers and to law enforcement and military. Civilians can only buy "transferable" if we want to own a full auto. Assuming your state allows them.
