Reloading bench top?

My reloading bench top is painted but I have a couple work benches with thin metal tops.Makes a very nice top easy to clean and if you don't do any pounding on it holds up well. I think it would work great. Don't understand the worry about static most presses are iron and steel loading dies are steel

Like others my reloading bench top is two layers of 3/4 ply screwed and glued, with acrylic poly. My casting bench on the other hand has an 1/8" aluminum sheet top, drips and spills do not stick at all.

I cut masonite hardboard with the up side being that white glossy surface. Shows all powder spills and easy to clean like the others mentioned. It is over 2 sheets of 3/4 inch plywood. Underneath I used a 2x4 basics polymer frame and shelving unit which holds about 1000lbs per bottom shelf--each bottom shelf is also doubled 3/4 inch plywood. Uppershelves are 2x4's. It was built in place but is still easy to dissassemble to move if necessary. Have my barrel vice mounted on it and even the hardest barrels to remove do not rock the bench because of the ballast in ammo and reloading supplies on the bottom shelves.
