Just wondering if anyone has been shooting the 300 win mag XCR tactical? And what they think of it. Favorite handloads ect. I got one sitting in a box that has yet to leave to house due to a few too many projects. Been thinking about loading some 200 grain boat tails.

I have a Sendero in .300wm scoped with a Redfield LE-12 with rangefinder reticle, 24" bbl. Nice package, great shooter. It's pet load is only 62 grains of IMR4350 behind a 200 grain Sierra Matchking BTHP, Win mag rifle primer. I have a target laying around here in a stack - wish I could find it - but it's 5 holes at 200 yards that you CAN cover with a dime. I won a $50 bet with that group and I kept the target just to rub my brother-in-law's nose in it now & then. :) But it'll do that group over and over if I do my job.

I know that's a very light load for the WM, and I don't know if I'd go elk hunting with one that light (but I couldn't carry that rifle for more than a hour or two anyway!) but off a bench it works very well. Good luck. Do a search on THR and you'll also find other favorite pet loads for the 300WM. I don't have any personal experience with the XCR, and perhaps I should have said that first, but I can't imagine ANY 700 not doing its job.

This has a 1 in 10 twist and a 26 inch fluted barrel. I put a 4 to 14 power Leupold vari-x III on it with the Boone and Crocket reticle.
It is right at zero degrees F here now and I am just getting over the flu, so I can't get myslef to head out to the range just yet.

I picked up the rifle, scope, mounts and some other stuff up in Anchorage.
It was a tad on the spendy side. Enough that my wife is still shooting lasers out of her eyes at me...

:) I've found that sometimes those lasers eventually run out of batteries... thank God. Also interested in the range report. Good luck, shoot well.
