Howdy folks,
Recently, things have changed for me. I now have the opportunity to request orders to a duty station outside of PRK upon my return from Iraq (Re-enlistment time came early and I might just bite). I have a wide variety of choices before me. Whidbey Island, WA; Norfolk, VA; Camp Lejeune, Cherry Point, New River, NC; Pensacola, FL; Corpus Christi, TX; Yuma, AZ; Beaufort, SC; Atlanta, GA; or New Orleans, LA. If I'm VERY VERY lucky, Quantico, VA. (and maybe school to spell some of these places).
Has anyone been around any of those areas? If you have a personal experience of those areas, please let me know. Since this is THR, of course I'm mostly talking about why I should choose these places from a 2A standpoint; ya know, stuff like how tough is it to get a CCL, oddball gun laws I should be aware of, ranges I can shoot steel cased ammo, stuff like that.
Or if you know of any reserve Marine Corps AIRCRAFT SQUADRONs that are around that I didn't mention, let me know of them too...I'm having a tough time finding reserve squadrons and if I had my choice, I'd like to do my job as an active guy working in a reserve unit.
For you old guys concerned about me, don't worry, I'm not going to pick a place soley based on its gun laws, I have a family to consider.
Thanks in advance THR.
