From what rifles I've handled, Not a Moisin because it's poorly balanced. It feels like a gas pipe on a roughed out rifle stock. Not an sks because it also is poorly balanced. The Enfiled, not sporterized might be good. Same with the M96. The k31 is on the heavy side to me but well balanced. I personally like the T99. It's very light and recoil is light. The MAS 36 seems to be a well balanced carbine to me. If the MAS35/51 semi-auto sounds interesting if it's as well balanced and would make a nice pig gun

poorly balanced, are you 3 feet tall.

No, I use to be 5'-8" but am probably shrunk a bit because of my age. For balance, I think of shooting the rifle at various positions, including standing. If the rifle is too front heavy, I'm not impressed. I also like to travel light when hiking. The sks could work but even my T99 is better. I hunted once with a compound bow and didn't enjoy carrying it. I prefer a light stick bow.

Winchester model 12 12 gauge. Mannlicher Schoenauer in 6.5x54, Ruger red label in 20 gauge.

Vulcan chain gun and 20mm. When it absolutely positively needs to be stopped right in its tracks.

A legendary combination of rifle and cartridge occured in 1950 when Reminton unveiled their .222 Rem and combined it with their M-722 rifle.
The superb accuracy of both rifle and cartridge complimented each other and yielded a level of consistant accuracy previously unknown in the shooting world. The .222 is now revered as the grandmother of a long and successful family of cartridges and many of today's rifles, of many brands, bear features adopted from the 722. Today we casually speak of sub-moa accuracy without pausing to reflect on this singular epic union of rifle and cartridge that made the phrase a reality.
