Yeeeehaaaaa!

Many thanks to Mo' and Johnmcl for putting together yet another promising fun match.

Directions seem clear.

I will finally get to participate in a match. Going to pick up my 39 from the shop either this afternoon or tomorrow.

Nematocyst,

Glad to have you in this one. I already see this one lining up as some major fun.

You Henry Golden Boys, this one is open to you.. Bring yore guns....

I'm doing a practice run this weekend..

Thanks for letting us Winchester guys in. I have a couple of 9422's, one scoped, one with the Ragged One Hole rear sights. Been looking but I still haven't found a nice used 39 to buy. I wouldn't mind a little character, but I have passed on a couple that were pretty beat up.

25 shots total? Open class technique?

Dude, this is a wheat from the chaff contest for sure.

I was hoping for "barricade" technique, it's the only resting position available to me. Maybe I can borrow a horse....

Shawnee: I'll take pictures but someone more skilled than I will have to post em'.

Pine Cone: I'll be expecting targets from both of those Winchesters! :D

Slugless: The only chaff in this contest are those that don't enter :neener: ;) Since YOU WON the John Wayne / Non-Magnified division the last match I didn't figure you needed any breaks ;) :p Heck your score would have made you competitive in the Freestyle class! So you and your Mountie are just goin' to have to John Wayne your way through this one too. :neener: :D

I played hooky today and went to the range. I shot a few targets and 3x5's and I believe this will be a good challenge for both the shooter and the rifles. The 3x5 was easier than I expected, even with the factory irons and the five bull target more challenging. Maintaining your focus through 25 or more shots is the key and those dang 'fliers' can really mess up a good group.

Best of luck to all!

This looks like a fun shoot with the 25 shots on one target. Open to all levers will really be interesting, just hope I can move out of the basement for this one. I know I will have my work cut out for me, I may even let my wife enter again. :scrutiny:

Thanks for putting this on Mo, I appreciate the work your doing for this.

JAG.

I missed the Valentine's Day shoot but will take pains to get this one shot.

Maybe next go round we can expand this to "Any manually operated rimfire repeater" so that I can also use my Winchester '06. The Marlin 39 does a pretty good job, but I am always surprised at how well that old beat up pump shoots.

Shamrock Postal Match

Hi All
Count me in!. Welcome to the Winnies, Henrys, Brownys, and any other that qualify. You had better bring your "A" game. ;). Our Marlins have been known to shoot pretty tight.. Very happy to see the guys did not forget the .22 WRM. Hope a bunch get their licks in.

Works for me. Printed off half a dozen yesterday and was going to get out to the range but got sidetracked.

Looking forward to this one.

Mo, yes, target link works fine on this end.

I have a copy of it on my wall right in front of my computer screen. I'm spending some time staring at it, focusing on how I'm going to put .22 projectiles into those little circles. :D

Got sidetracked yesterday (busy week here) and didn't get my rifle back yet. Tomorrow ... no later than Saturday ...

I just had an interesting epiphany that put a new spin on this match for me.

Those thick black target circles are just about the size of a squirrel's head.

I look at them and dream of fried squirrel with garlic gravy,
mashed potatoes, green beans and cranberry sauce.

Am I getting motivated or what?
_________

PS: I'm now printing out multiple copies of said target to be put up
in various places in my 2500 sf studio to help develop a search image.

I've got one pitch that runs diagonally across the space that measures
about 64', closest to 75' (25 yds) I can get in here.

I'm going to put one 5-spot in that far corner,
stand in the opposite diagonal corner (upstairs),
and practice sighting with an unloaded 39.

Nem, you're not the only one. I'm feeling much better about this match and much worse about myself...

Dude, this is a wheat from the chaff contest for sure.

When I said that I thought this was an index card match.

Imagine my surprise when the target emerged from the printer.

Hopefully I won't have to spend a lot of time filing down the new front sight & getting the Mountie on target, 'cause I need to practice my "Barricade Style" Kung-Fu!

Shot in the arm

Hi,
Had to rescue this from the third page. Hope all you guys on the Model 39 Thread have signed on and are hard at work  tightening up those groups. Mostly just wanted to get this back up where it can be seen, since it is not a Sticky this time. Off to the range in about an hour with Sweet Lips. ;)
