u pay gas and for the oil change....ammo is on me
<laughs>

PBD, that's a very kind offer. Appreciated.

Unfortunately, given that you're on the east coast and i'm on the west, my gas bill would be pretty big. :what:

still, it's the thought that counts. ;)

Mo, we're in the "Two Weeks Out" stage of this contest, but I only see two contestants.

Is this contest between your targets and mine, or are there other shooters we haven't heard about?

Did Shakey Jake get some targets in?

Seeing as any target submitted is guaranteed third place or better, I would think SOMEBODY would shoot this match!

Not as much buzz about this one. Ammo prices? Weather? Boring format?

I'm hoping the "Truck Gun" challenge does better.

I've got targets for 30-30 (50 & 100) and 45-70 @ 50. I'd like to get an entry in for my 1894 in 45 colt too. Need to get some loading done first though.

Mo, I can say from my parts that flooding has put many people in a bind. No time to shoot when your house is 3+ feet under water.

The White, Black and a few other little rivers have destroyed a lot of places, and has set farmers back over a month.

Weather has been our problem also. This has been the wettest April for a long time. When the sun comes out, several other things take precedence like finding the pet dog who accidentally wandered into the yard and got lost in the 6 foot high grass several days ago.

Some people may not notice this contest because it is up in stickyland. I just saw it, and if I can find my reloads and some index cards I'll take the Marlin with me today.Patrick

Personally, I like the stickies. Makes it easy to find the thread.

But I WILL find the thread, regardless of where it is.

C'mon guys, we're running out of time! Get those targets in the mail!

Dang, where did that sticky go? For a while I thought I had imagined the whole thing:confused:. Then I thought maybe it wasn't a sticky, got lucky and found the thread. This forum has alot more traffic than some other ones I've posted to. Maybe my suggestion wasn't so hot?

Anyway I made it out to the desert today, didn't have much ammo though. I only shot two groups, but they were good ones.
It was windy out there today and I was surprised when I checked my targets.

My rifle is a Marlin 1894 .357 mag., and I have a Brockman peep and post front sight.
I was using Rem. 140gr HP and a max charge of H110.

Now I have to find the address:).Patrick

Man, I wish I was in the NV desert.
Ain't no place like Great Basin desert,
says the guy who loves eastern OR.

What part of NV, Spinnerblade?

My favorite stretch is Hwy 93 up eastern NV
just south of Ely near Great Basin Nat'l Park.
Spectacular.

Nice groups, too. That one on the left looks 'specially good.
Interesting that you do better standing than sitting.
Any thoughts about why?

Here's some eastern OR.

I live in Las Vegas and usually go shooting south of Boulder City.

The only reason I can think of why my standing group is better than my sitting group was because it was 25 yards and the sitting group is 50 yards.

Those were the only two groups I shot and I was happy with both of them.
When I shoot groups I almost always shoot 5 shots or more, I think 3 shot groups allow more luck to enter into the equation.

I've been shooting alot lately, at least once a week since early February, although its been almost all pistols. I bought three new pistols and have been busy reloading and trying new loads.

I shoot my pistols at 50 and 100 yards fairly often as well.Patrick

Nice pistola work spinner!

Mal, your targets have arrived. Nicely done. That same load gets me about 1100 fps in my Marlin 1894. I've had good luck with 231 in 45 Colt. I liike 4756 slightly better because it fills the case a little better but 231 has proven good in the Marlin and my Rugers.

Yeah, alot of time I shoot targets and take pictures so I can look at them later. Those targets weren't for general consumtion:uhoh::).

If it's not too windy I'm going to try to go shoot the Marlin the next few days.Patrick

They looked to me like football play diagrams from Alcorn State University when they were on a paper saving drive! (Coach: "I think we can get 5 plays on each sheet in the playbook.")

:D

Today is Friday the 9th.

This contest ends Thursday the 15th.

When you consider three days mailing time, that means targets must be mailed by Monday.

If you want to shoot this contest, I recommend you get out there and do it this weekend!

Time is running out, gentlemen!

Hi, Nemo
I thought you were showing a picture of the target you finally submitted:neener::neener::D:D
