This has me curious. We did our testing against several loads using various brands of plated bullets and one bullet that we ALWAYS beat with every load was the Xtreme. Could you please tell me what problems you had with our bullet? Or why you prefer the Xtreme? I want to make it better if I can.
I had no problems with RMR bullets. It’s just personal preference. The Xtremes are a little cleaner to handle than the RMRs and have a little cleaner lines. I know you tout the foldover on the bottom of your bullets, and that’s fine, but it means nothing to me. I’m not a competition shooter, just a plinker, and prefer the cleaner lines of the Xtremes. The Xtreme 9mm plated, 115 and 124 gr, RN and HP, are consistently .3555” diameter and the RMR equivalents were .355-.3565”. I don’t have to fiddle with my expander die nor crimp die from batch to batch with the Xtremes. Prices are comparable, except when Xtreme runs a 20% discount sale.
RMR shipping is faster, but I try not to need bullets in a rush. If I ever do, I will probably order from RMR, but shipping time normally isn’t a priority with me. For my purposes, I find the two brands perform equally well, I just prefer to load Xtremes. Basically, different strokes for different folks. Hope I answered your question.
Edit to get back on topic: I looked at RMR’s new 115 gr after seeing the OP, but I prefer 124 gr. I saw somewhere that Xtreme is now making 124 gr FMJs, so I ordered some to try. They are in transit. If I’m not happy with them, I will probably try RMR’s 115 gr FMJs, or more likely their 124 gr when they come out. FMJs for or near plated prices is just too good to pass up.
