Ruger Boy Scout 10/22

I saw a Ruger Boy Scout edition 10/22 yeaterday and was wonderng if anyone had any information on this gun, such as # being made. A buddy wants to get one for his son who is an Eagle Scout. Thanks in advance for any info.

I think the gunblast review might mention the number being made. Its not that many. They are cool. With a proper trigger, some bolt work and a bedding job they would be a "real" 22. My standards are a little higher than Ruger's right now.
