So the rear sight/ mounting block would not come off the new Ruger Hawkeye African 6.5x55.
Mounted a NECG Ruger rear aperture sight and the OEM flip-up sight was redundant and in the way. Was also having a little problem w/ some binding and the ejector not deploying 100% of the time when the bolt was racked a certain way.
So it was sent back to the Mother-ship (gratis).
The same day it was received, the armorer:
- Removed the OEM rear sight. (there's a second blind screw under the keyed flip-up sight, who knew)
- Plugged the Bbl. holes as requested w/ flush allen screws.
- Replaced the Bolt, Sear, and firing pin spring.
- Adjusted ejector.
- Range-tested and included a 50 yd bug-hole 3-shot group test target.
- Shipped it out the same day.
The new bolt is stoned true on the top (when open), fits tighter, and operates smoothly; the trigger breaks like an icicle; and the ejector functions flawlessly under all cycling conditions.
All gratis.
