Recieved a LNIB Ruger P-95 in 9mm today. I have compared it side by side to my Glock 17, CZ-75, Benelli B-76, and Sig P-226.

Overall, the P-95 looks really good. The fit is very good, the finish is very good, and the SA trigger pull is really good out of the box, a little creep, but not at all heavy. I have never thought much of the P series DA trigger pulls and this one is no different, it stacks at the end of the pull.

I look forward to having an informal shoot out between these pistols in the future.

I also noticed that the bullet feeding looks a lot like my former Beretta 92, i.e., a straight line into the chamber throat. Looks as though the nose of the bullet doesn't contact the feed ramp little, if at all. I can see how the P-95 should eat anything.

Welcome to the P95 Ruger fraternity. Have two of the little darlings. Both have at least 4500 apiece through them. They will digest JHPs without any trouble. At least my examples have. Been over to the www.rugerforum.com and let them know about this? Have had only one slight problem with a magazine release button and that was taken care of by replacing the spring. Jammed too many magazines in at competition when the manual reads that one should be gentle. Live and learn. Have had not one bobble with any load. My 95s like Winchester, Silver Bear, Federal, Remington, and CCI 115,145 and 147 grain loads. 124 grain bullets are ok, but the pistol lies either the light 115s or the 140 plus grain rounds the best. Enjoy.

I have mixed feelings about my P95. It is very reliable and will feed all types of ammo. Jams and fail-to-fire are a nonissue. In this regard, I love my Ruger.

My gripe is accuracy. My P95 is terrible, it can hardly keep shots on the paper, much less on target. I've tried just about every factory ammo I can find, with no difference in results. I'm fairly confident that its not user-error, because I can shoot really tight groups with my 1911.

Maybe the accuracy issue is an isolated incident, only my particular gun. Hopefully others are having much better accuracy than I am.

My P-95 experience is good and average (not bad). The good was the reliability (100%) and the way it was able to shoot fast and accurate while shooting fast. It was one of the most accurate fast shooting guns I have ever owned.

When I shot it slow fire, it was poor. In slow fire the accuracy was not much better than when I was shooting it rapid fire. This is one of the few guns I had that was like this. In a gunfight, it would be great as long as the action was fast and up close. I can't think of a better weapon in that case. If you had to make a more accurate slow fire shot, it was not good.

Strange gun in that way but it worked.

I have a P94 .40 cal / P345 .45 cal. and I went to Academy and saw the P95, I think I fell in Love again. That is the same frame as my P94 and will also fit my duty rig as does my P345. I just love Rugers, have had plenty and will probably have plenty. The P345, now let me tell you, I'm not a great shot, I usually shoot around a 220 of a possible 250 during qualification. The last qual. I shot a 217 with my P94 and a 238 with my BRAND NEW P345, that tells me how accurate the new P345 is. I had a P90 in the past and sold it because I really had a hard time at qual, usually around 190 so I went back to the P89 9mm. I sold that to my father in law and bought the P94. I like that gun, but I think I love the P345.

I agree--for whatever reason, I can empty a magazine faster and more accurately with a P95 than with any other centerfire pistol I have shot. The gun just seems to come back on target by itself.

Slow fire accuracy is not that impressive.

I have a p95 and it is very accurate when fired slow or fast , it shoots as good or better than my g19 . I had a freind who had one and it would not group good at all with him or me shooting it . Maybe my barrel was rifled after they changed the rifling button and his was rifled when they needed to change it.
