I have a Ruger P89 that was manufactured in 2003. It has been a joy to shoot with ANY ammunition available at the moment. My question is this: Does the bullet weight make a difference in the grouping and point of aim in the P89? If it does, which grain weight performs the best?

I've put a bunch of ammo through my P89, mostly the WWB 115gr FMJ, well, because it is dirt cheap. $10 per hundred. Cheapest shooting out there. Most ammo I have tried is fairly accurate and hits POA at 7-15yrds. Don't do much shooting beyond that. Good luck, have fun, and safe shooting.

Not so much with just the P-89 but with any handgun. You can generally try a heavier bullet if you need to raise your point of impact, although this will sometimes not be true. Basically, if you are having trouble with POI vs POA, try some different brands and weights.
If you aren't, why worry about it?
:D

I've found 124gr slugs to give best accuracy with a full size 9mm pistol (Taurus PT-99, Ruger P89, and CZ 75B). Particular brands I've been pleased with are Sellier & Bellot and American Eagle (Federal). Fiocchi 115gr isn't bad either.
