Ruger To The Rescue (Pics Added)
If you've followed this subforum for several years, you know that I had an accident with an SP101.
It endured stresses beyond it's design.
(OK, heck, I blew it up.)
Well early last month (January) I was cleaning out my gun safe & decided to email Ruger & see if they wanted it for research.
Not only did they say "yes", they even emailed me a prepaid label.
After roughly 2 weeks, I got an email from Ruger CS.
Below is the exact text
You could have blown me away with a feather!!!!!!
I explained that it was my fault, but that didn't matter to Ruger.
Late this afternoon my local FFL called to say it was in.
After the paperwork & a background check, (which I passed )
I am once again a proud owner of an SP101!
It's too dark to take photos.
I'll have to do it tomorrow.
I already changed the grips.
I put new rubber & inserts on it.
(Altamont Snakeskin rubber & Walnut snakeskin inserts)

I'm just giddy - I still can't believe Ruger did this.
Even the cat wanted to be in pictures - (that's her paw trying to steal the reload)

Good morning-
We are sending this email in regards to the SP-101 serial number 574-38xxx that was sent into us for service. Our technicians found this firearm needs to be replaced. We would like to offer you a new revolver of the same model at no charge. Ways to get in contact with us are listed within this email. Thank you and have a nice day.
