6759.jpg I didn't see this one posted here. Mods feel free to delete this if its been mentioned. I've been waiting for Ruger to roll out a sr1911 in 9mm with a 5" barrel ever since the sr1911 45 came out. Looks great, just like their 10mm. I haven't read any reviews on it yet, but I want one.

It and the 9mm Officer have only been out about a week. Give it another week or two and I'm sure there will be several reviews.

If someone could figure out how to get the frontstrap checkered on these budget 1911's, they'd clean up; it's the last feature that hasn't really moved into the budget 1911 lines.

Taurus checkers their front straps. Or they were. I haven't paid attention to what they're doing with the latest guns.

True, and also forges their frames. It should show that it's at least plausible for other manufacturers to figure out an economical way to do it...

I sold my TRP because of the front strap and bought one without , Colt 70 series . I like the feel a lot better .

I like what Ruger is doing , putting out a lot of new stuff .

The Ruger Night Watch series have serrated front straps but that's as close as they've come to offering checkering.

I'd think there'd be a demand for a "custom shop" gun. Checkered front strap, non-MIM parts, tight NM barrel bushing, etc.
