I haven't been able to find anything concrete so I thought I would ask the experts here. Since the SD frame is almost identical to the Sigma, can I use sd internals in my sigma and use the apex kit to get the best trigger without chopping/removing springs? I want a good set up that will hold up in court but I don't have the money right now to buy an SD. I could get the parts for the Sigma gradually. I like the gun very much, however I don't care for the trigger as it tends to pull me off target. Has gotten much better with shooting over time.

Why not send it to S&W and have them smooth & lighten the Sigma trigger?

You might check with S&W. I've heard of a number of folks who have sent their guns back to S&W for trigger work, and the guns have come back greatly improved -- almost to the point of having good triggers.

A friend of mine called S&W and complained about..
the "Gritty" trigger and the "Crunchy" feel and they sent him a fedx label to send it to them. It came back to him much improved. I believed they polished all the parts inside , which causes the most trouble. Before removing springs , you may try that approach first.

Let S&W do it on their dime and keep it under lifetime warranty.

Remove springs = void warranty

They pay shipping both ways, so there's no downside.

I think I read that Apex is coming out with a kit for the Sigma in April, so we (I have a Sigma also) don't have to wait much longer. Wish I could remember where I read this. You might want to try searching the Smith and Wesson forum.

yitty, apex does have a kit for the sd but I can find no mention of anything for the sigma anywhere except for removal of and cutting of springs. This was the reason for my post, can I use sd internals in my sigma so that i can use the apex kit. And as for your suggestion bdm, I have thought about it but I can never get anyone on the phone at S&W, they must be very busy right now.

Here is the link to the discussion about Apex kits for both the SD and Sigma series:

I am quoting them from the link ...

"There are a few differences between the SD and the Sigma. We're working on putting out a Sigma kit. That should release shortly after Shot Show.

Scott @ Apex

"A Sigma specific kit and aluminum trigger are in process now.

"Scott and I are finishing up the details, so my best guess is April/May.

Randy"

I have read that the internals are different enough between the two that I wouldn't want to mess around trying to put a square peg in a round hole if you know what I mean. Just my two cents but I would be patient and wait to see what Apex offers in a couple of months.

Having followed Apex's Facebook page for a while they've mentioned the kit for the Sigma a few times in the last few weeks. Its supposed to be right around the corner by their reports drops the pull weight down to around 6 lbs.

that is awesome news guys! I just couldn't find the info I was looking for, but you all really came through! Thanks.
