no need to say all that for tightening a couple screws out of order....
So you got it in straight?
I did not think it was one of the crooked stocks, you can see them with no doubt...and you wern't saying that the insert looked like it was off to one side a bunch.
We have had nothing but good luck out of the new Savage 116/16...( and the rest) knock on wood, we are moving more Savages than any other brand with Tikka's a distant second.
As long as you follow the tightening procedure to the very word, those stocks do nicely!
Post a pix. or two of some groups for us.
I am building a Savage 116 for myself as we speak...waiting on parts now...waiting....waiting.....
When something new comes out you have to give it a while for the bugs to be worked out. You can't expect it perfect. Even so I'd rather have it not look perfectly centered in the stock than have the bolt handle break off when I go to shoot it like the Remington 700's are known for. Or have it jam up when I want to shoot more than one shot like the 870 Expresses seem to do. Or have the thing be full of rust in a couple years. Also like the 870 Expresses are known for.And this from the company that in another thread was so bragged up. I get it. Savage has hired guns on here to brag up the products. Must be cheaper than quality control.

Oh yes they are! I have personally seen it happen. Solder is NOT they best way to attach a bolt handle.Oh come on!! Remington's are hardly "known" for having the handle come off.
reat Remingtons ?If they are junk than why would you have 4 of them and only 2 of the g
Hey dude, what one piece scope ring base did you put on your Savage? I use Leupold and no matter what one piece base I order for my Savages long or short actions which I have both a 270 Win. long action and the 308 Win. in short action and both my Leupold one piece bases always leave the back hole untouched by the base mount and I see that your base covers that screw hole, please tell me what brand base you bought, thanks.
