I have a Savage MK II BV (Heavy Barrel Model) with an OE plastics trigger guard and the trigger guard broke at the front screw pad. It looks like the one at Numrich below

I want to replace with a metal one and Midway has one listed for Savage 93/MKII and said "steel blue", but it looks different

Does it fit? Is it really made of steel? A steel trigger guard for $15 is a good price. The title says "steel blue" but the description say factory original from Savage Arms, same material as original part, I don't recall Savage makes steel trigger guard for 93/MKII rimfire rifles. Does the "steel blue" refer to the color but really made of plastics like the factory one I broke?
This trigger guard looks like one for Centerfire Savage 10/110 that they list at

I would call Savage and hopefully get someone who knows something, but after reading the reviews it doesn't appear it will work.

From the website:

"This replacement part is a factory original from Savage Arms. Factory replacement parts are manufactured to the exact same specifications and tolerances and use the same manufacturing materials as the original parts which guarantees excellent fit and reliable operation"

Clearly, this is a plastic part, just like the one you broke.

I think I will see if I can make one myself! It looks like a pipe clamp, simple enough to make one from steel flat. Aluminum would be even easier to make, but I want a black finish, parkerized steel finish last better than painted aluminum. There were tutorials on DIY trigger guards on internet but I can't find anymore. Anyone has a link?

My Savage MK2 BV is pre AccuTrigger, the Midway one maybe the newer one with AccuTrigger.

You don't have to make anything. Click on the link, shop, enjoy. Simple really and I have no affiliation.

The plastic trigger guard don't stand up very well. Got an extra in case for a R9317 with piney wood stock. The rifle does have the Accu Trigger. I did put one of those metal trigger guards on an elderly 110FP. The real problem getting these parts to work is the umpteen dozen variations of Savage rifles. Savage sells parts but will warn you on older models pieces may not work. So far luck has been with us here. Always ordered parts from Savage with no problems.
