As far as Savannah, the Air Guard might be sending me down there for some training later this year. Hopefully it will be more entertaining than Fort Benning!

I'm sure I will. As to Ft. Benning, 2 chili hotdogs from a side walk vendor, put me in the ER in July,1968 while on OJT. The memories are not good. But Columbus/Phenix City had its distinguishes in that faraway day.

I only went into Columbus once, on the single weekend of liberty we got between basic and infantry school. All my buddies wanted to go out on the town, but after nine weeks of sharing every living moment with sixty other guys, I locked myself in my hotel room for two days.
