Mark Kelly and Gabby Giffords had a very large, very important part of their golden years together stolen from them by a criminal with a legally-obtained pistol. Their opinions may not match yours, but they know first-hand the dangers of America's mental-health problem and the problems inherent with the easy and cheap access to firearms that we have today. They have lost a part of their lives together because Loughner was able to legally acquire a concealable, controllable, and deadly weapon.

I would even go so far as to say that his opinion may carry slightly more weight than yours.

I respectfully disagree, totally, with this whole point of view. I agree there is no need for mudslinging about her disability, but her experiences give her no validity to threaten our rights. If she were stabbed 20 times with a kitchen knife legally obtained from Bed, Bath, and Beyond would that give her opinion weight in trying to ban kitchen knives?

As always, blame the criminal, not the gun. Anyone from ANY experience is the enemy of freedom if they try to tear down our rights. I am sorry she was the victim of a crime, but that doesn't excuse being wrong.

I watched the entire hearing and Captain Kelly and the MD Top Cop made fools of themselves. The only cops that agree with the Top Cop are the other Top Cops who are protecting their political asses and jobs.

Wayne did a fine job but as stated, No one there listened to a word he said. The female for the woman's rights group gets a thumbs up from me and so does the Professor.

Every Democrat that gave a speech wasted most of their time hugging Captain Kelly and Congresswoman Giffords and it got rather sickening even though I sympathize with what happened.

The entire hearing reminded me of a favorite movie line, "You want the truth! You can't handle the truth". Political theater at it's finest.
