I bought a 505 scale here from a forum member and it doesn't work. I called RCBS customer service for replacement parts and she told me to pack it up and ship it to Ohaus for repair free of charge. I will be shipping the scale out tommorow and was wondering if anybody did this before. Whats the turn around time and was the repair really free.
Thanks
Tom

Took about 2 weeks, but it was during 4th of July week last summer. It works just fine now and didn't cost anything. Though I seem to remember I paid shipping there, but it was negligible. RCBS really does seem to stand behind their gear. I got a large lot of used RCBS Dies presses and accessories and the few wonky/finicky items got fixed for the price of postage.

OHAUS is a topnotch outfit who really knows their punkins around scales. If you wanna really good handloading scale be on the lookout for an OHAUS 304 DIAL-A-GRAIN and you will NEVER have any need for another scale if you live to be 140.

A few years ago I sent in a 505 that wouldn't weigh accurately. OHause put in new beam pivot bearings (what ever they are called),l gave me a new thingy the pan sits in and pan, and calibrated the scale. It is still as good as new.

Ohaus/RCBS, the RCBS is a life time thing, the Ohaus by Ohaus has a warranty that expires.

I have Ohaus scales and powder measures, one scale is a 311 cent o gram with a 4 beam poise and the Ohaus equivalent to the 10/10 RCBS with both beams, one in grains and the other in grams. I was curious about converting the 311 scale to grains, after they told me how much it would cost, I am no longer curious.

I was south of Seattle at a pawn shop, I was looking at a CP734 impact wrench when I was offered the scales, something like a 'tuffer sale' two for one, $40.00, that is like $20.00 each or purchase one and get the other for free.

Just an update on this. I sent the scale back exactly 2 weeks ago today and when I got home there was a package from Ohaus at my front door. I would say thats great service. I really dont know for sure what they did other than give it a good cleaning but it works perfect so I felt I had to share my experiance with RCBS + Ohaus customer service.

Anyone have the address to ship a scale to Ohaus? I have a 10-10 scale that is pretty used up and in need of some repair.
