I would say definitely yes to train, subway, bus and boat. However I do get planes are different so I am open to further discussions on that.
Don't buy into the myth that a couple of rounds through the fuselage is going to result in explosive decompression at 30,000 feet.
Tell me that you know nothing about aircraft ventilation systems without telling me that you know nothing about aircraft ventilation systems. There is much more being vented out that a couple of extra holes aren't gong to change a thing.Lol, that would sound great in a speech. You're really on point here, keep going
I voted yes but I also have reservations about planes. But I am open minded about hearing any arguments.I would say definitely yes to train, subway, bus and boat. However I do get planes are different so I am open to further discussions on that.
He's right though.... on both counts. There used to be a time when you could carry a gun on a plane and poking a hole it is doesn't blow the thing up too. Just ask the FFDOs!Lol, that would sound great in a speech. You're really on point here, keep going
Back in the day, you can take your gun as carry-on luggage. This was once treated no differently than bringing on a laptop or tablet these days.I voted yes but I also have reservations about planes. But I am open minded about hearing any arguments.
My thinking: If you have a problem on a bus or train you can stop almost anyplace. Not so on an airplane.
An argument in favor of: A concealed carry holder might have been able to stop the planes that hit the Trade Center.
You know, freedom for gun owners trumps all other considerations in society and the rest of the Bill of Rights.
I remember taking a transatlantic charter flight in the summer of 1969, and the only security was a large sign that said that guns were prohibited. I suppose that was more or less on the honor system, unless you happened to be stopped by a random check.Hell, airport security and screening wasn't really a thing until the 1969.
The armed citizen who most likely won't be armed anyway isn't going to do much against the type of people who would be hijacking
I don't know why this particular incident happened. I always thought a holster with a padlock through the trigger guard was asking for trouble. He's right though.... on both counts. If I could carry on aircraft, I'd be carrying on aircraft right now. Heck, when I was LE, I flew armed via 24-hour NLETS notice. If I owned an airline I would prohibit carry while in the air. The armed citizen who most likely won't be armed anyway isn't going to do much against the type of people who would be hijacking the heck out of airlines to fly them to other countries. It may be an unpopular opinion but it's mine.
Ground transportation where people jump on and off with no security then I'm all for carrying.
Same as I feel comfortable them carrying around me everywhere else. People carry around me all day everyday. Not an issue I worry about.I voted no because you included planes. Ground transportation, I agree, but a host of safety issues on planes and law abiding citizens are not necessarily smart or dependable. Look at this way. For those of you that go to ranges. How many of those folks would you feel comfortable carrying on a plane?
You haven't been to a LE or Mil range I take it. Most can't qualify by shooting the side of a barn, from the inside of said barn.Just saw a news article about a law abiding American citizen with no legal disqualifications rummaging around in her purse which resulted in a negligent discharge of her concealed carry firearm. Resulted in the death of her child.
I don’t take subways or buses. I do fly very infrequently. I’m not comfortable with guns on planes in close quarters carried by anyone who doesn’t have a police or mil background with extensive training.
