My most recent milsurp acquisition is a K98 Mauser I got for $259 at a local gun store yesterday. It was built in 1938 at the "42" factory, Mauser Werke A.G., Oberndorf-am-Neckar. It has a 3 digit serial number which probably doesn't mean a lot but is kind of nifty. Everything matches but the bolt. I'm guessing it didn't see a lot of action in the war because it's in good shape. All the proofs are intact.

I don't have pictures of my other rifles on this computer, but this is my newest and I'm real happy with it so I thought that I would share.


It is an unissued 91/30 Mosin made in 1940 meant to be a sniper rifle. The scope is obviously not original, but the mount is. It is a 3-9x Weaver scope. The bore looks beautiful and I can't wait to shoot it.
