So as I'm sure y'all know by now I'm no stranger to stuck cases... I've thought about getting a case puller but I've seen a video of Brownells showing a new one off that literally made it seem super painless so idk if it was truly stuck like mine seems to get. Like were talking using a punch or a hex key with the die upside down using the press to force the hex key to push the case with all that happened was the whole press handle flexing and not budging one bit.
Any thoughts? I have used two different lubes over the couple years I've been doing this and it doesn't seem to make much difference IMHO.

What kind of lubes have you used?

Is the expander ball adjusted down far enough?

chris
Well with how the depriming stem and expander stem are made the depriming stem has to screw in all the way to the expander. so I am pretty sure it was adjusted properly. I usually have to move it down a bit further that the directions say die to military brass having crimps and sealant that makes it harder to push the primer out. Cause with it set to exactly how the manufacturer says it will get about 80 percent of the primers but sometimes they're stubborn and will make you POd when it doesn't work right and you'll have to turn re adjust it further down and so I decided to just set it up like that initially.

Your definitely not binding then...

Are the stuck ones range pickups or out of your arms...
Well I honestly don't know. That's the thing with the 7.62 and 5.56 brass is that I have a mix of both once fired brass that came out of MY stuff and random stuff we pick up at ranges and stuff like that. I think I just need to quit reloading NATO stuff. However, I'll add that it seems like my 30-06 loading has been doing fine since I have Greek HXP brass that I've loaded and sized and it seems to work fine. Weird.

I put my brass back in the box and seperate range pickups. I always pull the expander dealing with range fodder because they are an unknown. Process them separately, and I bet you have an easier time of things.

So how exactly does the case get sized properly without the expander stem in it?

You need to learn what is normal load needed to size, then stop when it take too much. Back it out and apply more lube.
No. Pull it out. Decap and neck expand in separate steps until you figure this out. Otherwise you are just wasting your effort.

Two wise statements.............!!
