The last ( or maybe next to last-forget) last rimfire match I used a Sig Skeeter with no problems. (in a thigh rig no less) I also used a AR platform. No pictures where taken but the threat was present. *grin*
Now this Skeeter belonged to a friend of mine whom is a FFL, a Cowboy action shooter and gunsmith in his own right.
He shoots cowboy, modern and tactical at these matches, I usually shoot modern with a Ruger MKII and Marlin 60. In fact we have gone head-to-head against each other and while our "tie breaker" targets busted at the same time, the timer said he beat me by a hundredth of a second.
Software, not hardware...
My experiences have shown some had problems with Skeeters and first off it was attributed to Remington ammo. Next up, after using good ammo, was the gun needed to be broken in, cleaned, and lubed properly.
Would I personally own one? Depends.
I am old school and my trigger time back in the old days was with Colt Woodsmans and High Standards, then the Ruger MKI, and then MKII. I have some trigger times with the Brownings.
Just me, but I seem to shoot more accurately and faster with Ruger MKIIs.
Find what fits you, take care of any breaking in, maintain and lube properly and use the correct ammo, and the gun will do what it is supposed to do, every time, is my take on the matter.
Sending best-
Steve
