For those SIG P238 & P938 users, are you a 1911 shooter? I mean, I know many people shoot 1911's in addition to other platforms. But I'm interested in the correlation between 1911 lovers and the users of these SIGs.

Nailed me there, I just sold my last DA/SA pistol, besides my .22 pistols most of my pistols are Glocks or 1911s, basically why I bought the P238. I used to have 7 different SIG pistols, now down to 2 1911s and the P238, may get a P938 sometime next year, might not. Basically I am hooked on 1911s, have a thing for CCO size, and Series 70 Colts.

I'm definitely a 1911 fanboy who loves his P238 because it's essentially a mini-1911.

When I was looking for a pocket .380, I checked out some of the usual suspects... The P3AT felt like a toy, I've had airsoft and paintball guns that felt more solid in my hands (The LCP was a bit nicer, but still didn't care for it). The Bodyguard was nice... But I didn't care for the laser activation method or the safety and the trigger sucked.

But when I found out about the P238, I fell in love. A 1911 for my pocket? I'm sold! I didn't care that I probably could have bought two P3ATs for what I paid for my little Sig, when I took it to the range for the first time I knew it was worth it.

I don't own a single 1911.

I own the Colt Mustang Pocketlite (P238's Predecessor) and a Sig P938.

If you ever shoot a P238 (Colt Stang) or P938 against the modern "Pocket" .380's like the LCP etc, you will notice that the P938, even at 9mm, is much more pleasant to shoot than the .380 LCP. and the Colt, is what CCW dream of being. It is so sweet to shoot.

Love 1911s, but don't own one...one day. Just picked up a P238 for CCW and it's a pleasure to shoot. I used to have an LCP but traded it since it was so dang unpleasant to shoot. It really turned me off the .380. But then there I went itching for a pocket pistol. I wanted something heavier and a good shooter. While many people seem to insist on nothing externally that could snag, I was really happy that SIG puts good solid night sights on their P238. I ended with the SAS version and it's a pleasure to shoot. I had a few feeding problems at first, but once it got going, it ate FMJ and Speer Gold Dot well. I polished up the feed ramp once I got home. It's a great pocket pistol in my opinion.

The 1911 platform has dominated for over 100 years now. In this age of plastic guns, SpecOps and other heavy hitters still take 1911's into harms way.

Now that manufacturers have finally gotten smart and started engineering 1911 actions for smaller platforms and other cartridges, the next 100 years is in the bag.

I have a 238, 938, EMP and a host of other more traditional 1911's. I was raised on 1911's. I tried to like them, but to me plastic guns are chunky, souless and fugly, plastic is best reserved for toys..

Not voteing ! this is like Jeep vs Tank !:banghead: just got a P238 for the wife this past spring , not even close to a 1911 0906121644a95310154.jpg

Have dozens of 1911s in 45, 10mm and 9mm. Have the P238 and really like it. Other then it is a SA, it is not a 1911.

I'm a 1911 owner and fan. Watched my father struggle for months with a Mustang that just wouldn't run so I've always steered clear. If i wanted a small 1911esque pistol I'd consider an STI Electra or an SA EMP so... what's left to say? Roll Tide!

I like the EMP. It is a great choice for a smaller 1911 style gun. However, an EMP is gargantuan compared to a mustang. They are two very different guns for different roles IMHO. FWIW, my mustang has been very reliable with a range of different ammo.
