I paid $425 for my 4" 586 about three years ago. Sold it a year later for the same price.

I have seen several others locally (and recently) for about the same price.

I'd love to find one at that price. I'd like to get a 586, but honestly if I can't find one reasonably, I may just end up with a Ruger GP100 - I can buy a NEW one of those for $470.

Thanks guys,

Warner

I had a 686-4 6" barrel. Nice gun, bit heavy but strong paid 500+tax last year. Later on I picked up a 586 no dash (no m either) 6" barrel for 375. It had a bit of holster wear, ding on the trigger guard, but man that finish was nice.

Sold the 686 because the 586 had a much nicer trigger. I ended up selling the 586 two months ago for 400. If I were to do it again I would get a 581 for the non adjustable sites and a 4inch barrel. Unless you are target shooting or hunting with it the 6 inch barrel is too heavy. The balance is alright, but I like to feel more recoil when I shoot full house loads :what:

I have owned a lot of firearms the past 35 years, including several L-Frames. Around 83 or 84 I bought a new 586 Nickel, 4". Turned out to be the most accurate revolver I have ever owned, even my Pythons. Let it go in a trade sometime back. I always look hard at that rare 4" nickel 586 I come across and wonder if that was the one that got away.

I found that gun I was telling you about. I saw it at the gwinnett county fairgrounds gun show. I'm positive this is the same gun. I'm not sure if the grips on it are original though. Anyone else know? It is listed on theoutdoorstrader.com(formerly the ga gun trader) Here's the link maybe you can work something out with him or maybe I can help. Little expensive but that's just what he's asking. Might be worth it with the condition of it.
