So has the election compelled you to buy anything?

Heading out soon to buy a couple of AK's in addition to the rest of the 7 I already have...and another Saiga to 'convert' (762x39) and a lot more mags an ammo.Whether this election goes sour or not,or another AWB (or possibly not,and I do hope not) figured to go buy now...as prices wont fall anytime soon.Get it now while its possible...

I would like to buy some sort of EBR in .223 or .308 (preferably both) with plenty of mags. Same goes for several semi-auto pistols. I also would like a substantial stock pile of ammunition for all those weapons.

The operative word is "like to". I don't want to purchase stuff on credit and my income is modest. I can't afford to drop several thousand dollars on firearms before Nov 4 even if there weren't other important things to purchase.

It really stinks having just purchased my first firearm less than 2 months ago. I wish I could have had been stocking up on firearms & ammo over a period of years instead of feeling like I have to do it all in a couple months. :banghead: I also feel rushed into the EBR purchase. I would really like to take my time building my firearms collection. Do a lot of reading/research, try different firearms/accessories to find out what works best for me, etc. But I don't think I will have that luxury if Obama is elected. :(

I'm still pretty well stocked up after Y2K and the Clinton AWB. Plenty of ammo and mags here.
I'm working as much overtime as I can get and paying off every bill/debt I have. I'd like to be clear of the car note and the Visa card by this time next year.
I got a little money from my insurance company after hurricane gustav. I'm doing most of the repairs myself and pocketing the money. Closed out my savings account and socked it away where I can get to it quickly if needed.
After the hurricane I passed through every National Guard POD (point of distribution) which I could as often as I could. I now have a nice stock of MREs and bottled water.
No matter what comes to pass I plan on being in a better position to deal with it in the near future.

Manipulation by fear........ at it's finest! Don't forget they're "gunna" grab your bibles and your first born too!

I submit we all have plenty of other issues of which to be concerned.... NOW!
Like how 'bout the biggest gov grab of private enterprise ever thanks to GW Clueless!
The one to have feared is on his way out the door! Thank God!

I'll be buying an AK47. I had no intention of buying one before it became apparent that Obama is probably going to win. I'll also be buying a Springfield XD45 which I probably would have gotten anyway eventually, but with Obama and who knows how many congressional seats the Democrats are going to pick up, that purchase is on the front burner now, too.

I hate it that I can't really afford to do much, being a low earner and having a mortgage and student loans. What I've been doing is getting ammo here and there, little amounts at a time, and will probably order some bulk 7.62x39 soon. I'm not inclined to hoard magazines though, and think it's kind of rotten of you guys who are (40-100) so that the poor folks might not be able to get theirs. I have had 9 30 round mags and 1 20 round for a long time for my AR-15, and think that's a perfect amount if they are all in good working order. Maybe 3 more spare ones would be good to rotate out which ones are loaded. I'd like to ad a Beta-C drum to that collection, but think that money would just be better spent on ammunition considering the exorbitant prices. I probably will get an AK and a 75 round drum for it within the next 20 days or so, and already have 4 steel 30 rounders for one.
I can't stand to think that I might have to accept never getting so many things on my list, and am not crazy enough to get into credit card debt or go broke for such fanciful wishes...Barret 82A1, Thompson 1927A1 w/50 round drum, the new FNH SCAR if it becomes available in a civi version, the FN-FiveSeven, FN-PS90, an FNP maybe in 40, a G-21. I think everything else on my wish list is not 'endangered' by an AWB, but I know one party/candidate won't stop at just the 'scary' looking stuff...it's a slippery slope. I don't care if 'they' have a paper trail to my door, it gets to that, and I don't want to live in such a state anyway.

Bought an AR15... keep at least 1,000 rounds of .223 and 9mm stockpiled at all times. Also got my Florida non-resident CCW permit.

Maybe the next POTUS we redistribute the mag wealth as well.

1. Ammo, primarily .223

2. 20 and 30 round mags for my AR-15

I want to add a brief story about something positive coming out of this. My wife has never really embraced me owning guns, but seemd to tolerate it. Then I took her to my gun club for the first time the other day (after numerous invitations she finally accepted).

Afterwards we went to dinner and were discussing the current political situation. She said that on her horse forums (she's into competitive trail riding) the scuttlebutt is that if Obama is elected, he'll move to ban high-capacity weapons. I said that I'm convinced that's true and would probably only be the start of what he would do.

Then she said: "I think it's time we buy me a gun". Yes!

Speaking of which, um, anybody got AK mags they're itching to sell/donate?

Aimsurplus has good prices for them. Make sure to buy at least 10.

I second that on buying from AIM.

They still have the five or more used Hungarian for 8.95 deal going. Last week they were giving you a used pouch on this deal as well but that looks gone now. I ordered ten of these used Hungarian mags and several of them appeared as new and the rest looked looked pretty dang good.

So I've picked up 2k of 7.62x39, and over 2.5k of .22lr(got an extra 100 from the homeowner where I rent when I replaced the garbage disposal a lot cheaper than what the Sear's guy wanted). I'm waiting to get my bulk buys (already bought, just waiting to arrive) five hundred rounds of 8mm Mauser, 1k of .45 ACP, 1k of .357 Magnum. I'm just going to pick up some more .44 Magnum at the next gun show from some guys I know that do good work with good reloadable brass.

I'm looking at the taking some of the sock of way money I had for O.S. occassions and using up the last of my pocket burning money and pickup up a Saiga 7.62x39 to bolster by suped SKS.

Settle in folks, this'll be real interesting if Obama gets it.

Hmmm,

We have a good supply of ammunition here. Lots of 32-20 for the Winchester, even more 30-06 for the Garand, Remington and Itaca. Bricks and bricks of .22 rimfire, .380, 9mm and .45 both LC and ACP.

Hubby and I are in the midst of a two year argument over buying a new rifle. He would like to get an M1A or an AR but I still say the Garand is enough.

My REAL concern is some pol is going to find out about the double barrelled muzzle load rifle in .75 cal. If they are worried about fifties what would they say about a rifle that the wind from the ball knocks down the target?

So far, I've bought two Colt AR-15's, magazines, and three stripped lower receivers along with parts kits. Contemplating what else to get; probably ammo.

2 18.5 inch shotguns, one Moss 500 and one Reming 870. Couldn't decide so bought them both.

Next week I start the AR built. Gonna have to go layaway parts starting with the lower though. Can't afford to drop the $1000 for a pre-build even on layaway :(

Having been through and suffering the effects of the '94 AWB just like everyone else did and long ago realizing that every election is going to go our way, I started buying AK's late last year when the list of possible Democratic contenders was being thrown about.

I now have six Arsenals (3 SA M7Rs and 3 SAS M7s) in addition to a VEPR K in 7.62x39 each rifle having 15 30 round magazines with plans to acquire another SA M7R in a week. Can't have enough EBRs and hicap mags!

colt 6920
30rnd mags
ammo

the potential AWB is just an excuse for me to do this lol

I currently have a Del-ton Midlength AR and a Saiga 7.62 AK, along with my Mossberg 500. I had been contemplating them far before Obama clinched the nomination, but now I am kind of concerned.

I now am kind of afraid of the future of RKBA. Sure, we are pushing back, but Obama could pass some stupid crap against us.

I WILL be buying about 200 bucks worth of AK and AR mags in the next couple of weeks, and am contemplating another AK or a really cost-effective del-Ton build again. A Mossberg 590 is also on the list. I was worried about finding a good .22 in order to save money and shoot cheaper ammo, but now I'm actually giving into the fear-buying, and want to grab some hi-cap mags and another EBR or two (and a good handgun when I turn 21) first.

I'll be voting McCain, though. Let's just see what happens.
