Seriously guys...if our wives found out that number and then factored in the cost, they would triple their beauty salon visits and start going to a day spa 7 times a week...I'm just saying, might be better left unsaid.
Like I said, I have ~500K shotgun rounds fired; when you add in the cost of the targets, I am looking north of $300K........something I do not tell my wife at all.............SSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH:thumbup:

I put in for 500k to 1 million, which is little more than a guess. During my competition days I average 2000 rounds a week. There also have been years when I barely pulled a trigger at all.

Near the end Jerry said something to effect of I’ve shot 800,000 - 1,000,000 rounds at it. I knew pro shooters shoot a LOT as I’ve heard Tom Knapp talk about how many rounds he had shot but still my first reaction was simply... :what: bu

No guess here, but a quick story about the Miculek’s and Clark’s. I used to pretty routinely stop in their gun store and shop in Louisiana. Several of the family live on the property. One of the houses had a couple of those 1+ yard concrete mixers (similar to what you see at Harbor Freight or Northern Tool). I had to ask why...

They used them to tumble brass.....

They shot a LOT!

A friend of mine does the same thing to tumble his 50 BMG brass for his M2

If we are counting military weapons, I would bet right around the 1M mark. I spent most of my time on a 240B team. A short range trip with that fellow you will go through 800 rounds just to make sure it shoots in the area you want. And it is not hard for a pair of guns to chew through a pallet of ammo on a good range day. Especially if you brought a couple spare barrels to change out. All the other fun toys like M2, Mk19 etc burn ammo when its all linked together.

I'm just glad to see other admitted ammo wasters! I've heard too many people talk about wearing out a gun with 2 boxes of ammo. Total bunk! Even my well used shotguns, rimfires, and pistols really don't worry about barrel life.

BTW 100k of 22LR sounds like a lot but truly isn't. Through the 1990s our rifle club was 25 minute drive from home and shooting was a nice way to spend early Saturday mornings. Most bricks were $6 to $8 per 500. I recall my surprise the first time I didn't get change from a twenty buying 2 bricks and a mountain dew. I can only think of a handful of times I came home with any rimfire ammo after a plinking session. If anything, running out of ammo is when it was time to pack up. All my 22s have been semi-autos

During the time I was buying online those orders are easy to track rounds. Before and after, I have no idea nor can I guess. Would probably rather not know as I might realize how much has been spent. :p

As others have mentioned that isn't a lot of shooting for him...he built it in 1976...44 years ago. At 1,000,000 round into it that's a little under 23,000 per year...not bragging, but I've done that a couple times shooting in a skeet league, not cunning the other guns. With a paid competition shooter I would think it would have to be in the 30k+ range...practice and matches, I could be wrong, but bet I'm close. I've been shooting for 50 years, some years more than others, if I had to guess I'm above 1 mil by a bunch and from reading post on here through the years there are others right there with me and a couple in front...I'm doing my best to catch up though.

I was shooting maybe 3-4K rounds a year. Then I started reloading and it more than doubled.

Now I find time to be the constraining problem and not ammo supply.
