Anybody hear anything about a new S&W 9mm. called the CSX? Just got an email from an LGS about this new micro compact, 10/12 round magazine which has an aluminum frame instead of with the usual polymer construction. MSRP is $599.99.
Nope but it sounds cool

nice looking... no ugly rail and controls are all in the right place. Looks like a modernized and melted Astra A70. Trigger looks like cheap trash though. Nice that it has a more traditional double stack mag design. I am interested. Might pick one up in 2025 after its second or third recall. Nice job S&W.

trigger looks cheap like something on an bb pistol lookalike. Grip looks to be handfilling and ergonomic though. I like it. Needs to have a stainless version. MSRP is pretty high so it better be nice. $600 is Beretta 92 territory.

Maybe it's a Walther-style trigger :)

I've never seen a trigger like that on a Glock.
To me it looks like a 1911 trigger with a safety; much like was used on the Hudson H9. (Except the trigger safety on the Hudson pivoted at the bottom.)

Let me rephrase, not a fan of muti-peice, jointed, rotating, or folding triggers. A trigger should be a solid chunk of (preferably) metal.

After seeing your post a quick search landed me here:

This looks like one of the more interesting new offerings we've seen in a while. Not just another micro striker 9!

Thanks for the link, @DairyVet .

A Single Action Only defense metal framed pistol with a wide magazine. Makes me think you nailed it with a 1911 type of trigger (with a dingus attached, of course).

Very, very interesting this CSX is.

Interesting. I can see the slide serrations taking the skin off your thumb if you hold thumb high after using a 1911.

I don't care for the trigger. The rest is pretty though.

Its dual purpose. You use it to light the match you keep in your mouth after throwing out memorable one liners. Skin loss is overated... it grows back pretty fast. Make sure you get your dailly collagen and move on with your life.

guessing it has a fireing pin block as well... triple safety? So its really, really, really safe!!! They shoud have gone all the way and put a grip and magazine safety on it as well.... maybe avoid a recall or two.

Trigger really isnt that big a deal. Who the heck cares about a nice trigger on a SAO pistol anyways. Thats just a "boomer" thing. Better to have more safeties. Hope it has a tactile loaded chamber indicator...for safety.

starling

That's kind of what I was thinking too. That or else it looks like the back half of an Astra Constable.

I am guessing you won't really notice the trigger thingy. As long as the slide is sitting on that plastic body I see no resemblance other than the bobbed hammer to a 1911 and the fact that it is a semi- automatic pistol.
