Sound off if you carry a Glock

Your buddies are wise, and i'll tell you what, that's a slick little setup you got there with that clip and the safety installed!

If i was gonna buy a glock, it would be yours. :D

G29- little car, big motor.

I love the trigger reset. I love the finish.

Not sure I'd recommend one as a first carry gun; the ease with which the 'safety' can be overcome requires familiarity on the part of the operator to maintain safe handling techniques- if the OP is familiar with handguns in general and Glocks in particular this is unlikely to apply, but for a non-shooter?

I'd prefer a revolver.

I use a Glock 17 in IPSC, Production classs. I carry a S&W M&P 40 at work. I'm not a big fan of the M&P, we are having a few issues with them. If we were allowed to carry off duty my choice would be the Glock 19.

new 26, easy as my keltec, more relaible, and more rounds. My 6th glock, all the others were a little too heavy or uncomfortable for sitting in a social scene. The 26 more or less is the perfect gun for most any situation if you like glocks. I don't see any difference in the 19 vs the 26 other than preference.

I've owned and carried over the years MANY GLOCK pistols an old battered 17 that was old when I got it...never missed a lick, several 22's several 23's, at least two different 19's including a lonewolf reduced grip model, an older 21 my current 21SF (LOVE it!) and right now I recently dropped a 23 and went back to a 19 for EDC after playing with a Sig 2022 a bit....very nice pistol but Sig has already pissed me off once since I've owned it with poor customer service...so I'm pretty sure I'm trading it in for this OD 19 and sticking it back out for sale. Will decide this afternoon at the range...I like both guns but Sig is just a PITA to deal with in general. I have a large affection for the 1911...and a LONG running trust and history of great customer service with GLOCK. One is the most rewarding to shoot...one is the most comforting to carry.

1911's and GLOCK's because one is pretty and one just does ugly things SO well! ;)

23C. Fits me great, shoots straight, and goes bang EVERY time. What more could you ask for?

I almost got one. :) Does that qualify? Almost got a G19 but wasn't happy with the grip hump and the overall thickness. I needed a CCW that could work with tucked-in office shirts without the bulge at the waist. Looked at the G26 also but no pinkie rest and just as thick. Got a PPS instead. But I am a great admirer of the G19 & 22 which are two of the best all purpose pistols around and the Glock reliability is unsurpassed.

I'm in like with my Glocks

I began with a G-22, G-23 and G-27. First sold the G-22 because it didn't fit the game. A friend went in LEO work and his department didn't furnish guns but mandated G-23s so he is now the proud owner of that one.
Someone pointed out to me years ago that once a person properly educated themselves a Glock could be a very nice "kit gun" since there are so many parts available. I sought the education and bought the proper tools and began with the 23 and 27. Lightning Strike triggers coupled to Ghost 5# tactical connectors and proper tuning gave them great actions. I added extended mag releases and slide locks and Trijicon sights. After the 22 left home I decided to convert the 27 into .357Sig. I liked it so much I bought a G-32 and added the tactical action work and Trijicons. I don't ever intend to keep adding useless junk to any gun until it looks like a "handy-dandy wonder tool" but the changes I have made are for better function. And they're all I plan on. The .357s are a dream to shoot and I have a super Mitch Rosen IWB for the baby and am ordering a concealment holster for the 32. The Glocks may not be "all things/perfected". I have other guns I shoot and carry just like everyone else who enjoys guns and shooting. But there will always be a place for Glocks in my plans.:D

First impressions

Just handled my first Glocks today, actually. A 21 SF and a 30 SF. My hands are kind of between medium and large. Previously I've shot a 1911 and an HK-USP45C, both of which I liked. The Glocks really surprised me - I was expecting them to feel like a 2x4 at an odd angle, but to my hand both the 21 and the 30 fit really well. Very natural to me, so maybe I just have Glock hands. Anyway, the 21 is not small, but to me it felt like a smaller gun than it really is. Felt very well balanced. The 30 is not really that small and filled my hand very well. It might be a little on the thick side for CC for some people. The 30 is referred to as a subcompact, but it doesn't feel like one to me. Between the 21 and the 30, both were great, but I slightly preferred the balance of the 21.
A buddy of mine carries a 23 as his daily carry and likes it very much. I'd definitely consider one for CC, or a 19.
21 or 23 - don't think you could go wrong either way, but you might want to check out a 30 as well.

I carry a 23 and have been very happy with it. I used to carry a Sig 230 and was fairly happy with it as it is a quality firearm. The Glock wins because of capacity and caliber.

Glock 19 is my everyday carry gun.

I carry a g17, g19 or g26 from time to time. G19 mostly, best all around size.

Nice to see W.E.G. got to this thread pronto with his koolaid picture. Doesn't feel like a glock thread without that picture.

I started with a G26 the year they came out, went to a G19. Then I carried my brothers G17 for a few days. The fullsize Glocks are very easy to carry.

I got a G37 a little under 2 years ago and love it. I carry it 9 out of 10 times.

Hey, Bulldawg. Just out of curiosity, what made you choose that particular clip over the clip-draw?

Always like to hear others' perspectives and I used the Clip-Draw for a while with a Saf-T-Block when I first started carrying.

Aftermarket sights hung on pants a little on draw, so....had to go.

G19

Good compromise between weight, size and fire power. Bullet proof reliability. Carry mine in a DeSantis pancake or either a DeSantis paddle holster...no retaining straps on either.

I shoot a G22 as my primary carry, and from time to time carry a G21. They are the most reliable hand guns I own. Both have very high round counts and neither has ever misfed or misfired since I aquired them.
