I count myself fortunate that I recently got my CZ SP-01 Tactical 1 week ago because it now seems that they are back-ordered on many online gun websites. Anybody know what's going on?

I noticed that too. Glad I got one a month ago. The word is spreading fast on how sweet these pistols are. My next is a 75B stainless

hags is right. The election, and the last liberal president's gun control policy that was finally reversed by Bush. Stock up on them hi-cap magazines and ammo, it'll be like the gas prices. Of course when bullets cost $5 each, not so many drive-bys ;)

Frustrating, isn't it? I've been trying to find one for months, just to see whether it fits my hand. Dealers don't have them, and neither do their distributors. I really can't believe that the demand is that high, but rather that there is a problem at CZ on the supply end.

I find CZs seem to be getting rather hard to find. Matter of fact I have seem more $1000+ STIs in stores than I have seen CZ pistols. Strange but true.

I had one on order at Impact Guns, and they told me they had it on "indefinite backorder". Reason they gave was a hold-up of getting them through US Custom, can't verify that though. Luckily, Ghost had one but they are now showing them unavailable.

They are great pistols both for the price and the performance. You can spend double on an HK P30 for a polymer-frame pistol.

I know that I am most grateful to hags for the SP-01 that I got from him, especially with the "dry up". Like a few others here, I would not sell mine. It has become my favorite pistol. A true work of art!

Now, with the coming elections and the potential of an ObamaNation, I bet that many people have stepped up their purchaces, thus causing the "dry up". I say, . . . great! It means that they're a great pistol. I'd be worried if shelves were FULL of them. ;)

The SP-01 Tactical is truly a great gun!! Have a bunch of CZs and that and my P-01 are simply the best 'shoots' I own!!

Whenever they are back in stock and available, get one. I'd call GHOST PRODUCTS (AZ) ask for Robert or Angus, they should be able to tell you when they expect them in... and they are usually priced right thru them!

I'm glad that I have my Phantom.

I have been doing big time purchasing over the past two years even before Obama darkened my doorstep. I figure that even with McCain we'll eventually end up screwed as gun rights will be fodder for one of his compromises. I was talking about this issue with a Class 3 dealer and he tells me that if things head south on guns there may well be better deals later on. It may end up the opposite of what you'd think. Some may get stuck with large inventories of soon to be restricted or outlawed items and may have to move them quickly or get stuck with them. It didn't make complete sense to me but he is the one in the business. It all depends how it comes down.

I think the closer that we get to a new gun ban you might see more buying towards larger capacity pistols like the CZ. I'd also expect the new XD to do very well.

To me right now the smart guy hedging against the worst is buying ammo, mags and AR lowers.

Another very satisfied SP-01 owner here; after reading this thread I’m glad I got mine when I did.

USP40 Guy: I picked up my HK P30 for $725. Love it! Our Gander Mountain has a CZ SP-01 sitting in the case for $649. (Soon to be mine in layaway)

Two fine weapons but certainly the HK does not cost double. The CZs have definitely gone up in price as demand has increased, and I think folks believe HKs cost much more than they actually do.

As an original New Yorker, I tend to barter for everything. Paying retail for a gun is nuts.

I love my SP-01 tactical so much, I got a 2075 Rami decocker through "Manofsteele". A good guy to deal with.
CZ, especially the SP-01 has incredible machining. It's just a beauty.
And 20 rounds of 9 mm. ain't bad either.

Maybe we should start an "SP-01 Locator" thread. There is an SP-01 at the local gun store that I have an indoor range membership at.

The "sticker" price is $544.00, just in case anyone is serious.
