That’s a real looker!Congrats on your new toy! I have a stainless 9mm RO and it is a beauty. Crazy accurate, beautiful to look at and a soft, soft shooter. View attachment 1033877

I’m glad I got mine when I did.Range Officer is discontinued now, unfortunately....
I can smell the sarcasm in that post.I meant to buy one when PSA clearanced them out for $699 (for the RO Elites) but instead I got a new deck for the house and the fun of designing and putting it all together.
You have the correct understanding of what the Range Officer is and it should serve you well. Your gun, as pictured, was the original design and it was designed as a competition gun. I spent a whole bunch of key strokes across a few gun forums trying to talk folks out of the Range Officer and into some other model in the Springfield line-up, like the Loaded or TRP, because I knew folks weren't really interested in a competition gun, and weren't going to like the adjustable sights. I lost count of the number of folks that ended up with the sights like forum member Bo shows on his gun at post #10.No hate, but not everyone want to hang crap off a target pistol.
Target model: First day was a real pleasure with my 9mm with sub 4" groups at 15 & 20 yrds.
