Sticker shock! Powder price

It seems like nowadays there's always some sort of 50 BMG powder available.

And that's a very good thing. Considering most powders suitable for loading the 50 BMG require ~250gr of that powder a pound doesn't last very long. (only ~28 rounds/lb.) It's bad enough all the other components cost so much. At least we can get a break on the powder, and there are quite a few on the market.

The generic medicine analogy doesn't work: imagine if you were taking a medicine with a normal dose of 2 pills a day. If generic medicine was like "bulk" powder the dose might vary between 1 pill to 2.5 pills a day depending on what lot the bottle was taken from. You'd have to start with 1 pill and see if it works, increasing until you get the desired effect. Same thing with "bulk" powder, you have to work up a new load. It doesn't work like this with medicine.

Oh yes it still works. I'm to break certain generic meds in half, do I take the big half or do I take the small half, actually I take the half I pick up. This is what the Dr. tells me to do, I'm sure he/she knows what they're doing, after all they put my cancer in remission. So yes the analogy does work.
