Stolen Gun - advise

I had 9 guns burgled ... they broke open my safe. They were painting contractors who saw the safe. Twice, once 17 months later, and then another year later, seven were found in the woods. I have restored all but one, some came out at 95% again.

As stated already you have to go find your weapon, go to pawn shops with serial numbers. When you find them call the police, do not tell shop owner hey that's my gun as they will merely remove it and part it out etc... look on Gun Broker and Guns America also. This definately sounds like someone you know, as they went right to where you keep the stuff they wanted.

Why are you leaving anything in your car? Especially after one theft recently? There is nothing of any real value in my own car, at least not in plain sight. Maybe in the trunk, but even then nothing worth taking. Maybe a change of clothing and a some basic tools worth $20.

A friend of mine had one stolen. IIRC it was a Beretta 9mm. He found it in a pawn shop about 2 months after the fact. They had it priced at around 350, again IIRC.

Anyways, to insure the fact that it would still be at the pawn shop when the authorities got there, he put it on lay-a-way. I think he had to put 30 or 40 dollars down on it. The pawnshop owner wouldn't refund his down payment either.

+1 to the locked car question.
I have been dumb in the past and left all kinds of cool expensive stuff in my car; radar detector, cell phone, wallet, keys...but NEVER a gun! especially one I care about.

All you people saying call 911 you are dead wrong that is only for a life threatening emergency. What till he comes back and opens your garage and let him get in the house then shoot him then call 911.
No serioslly you need a police report that showes the time and date that gun was stolen from your truck. You still could be charged if they killed someone because you should have removed it from your vehicle. That probley won't happen if they shoot someone they will probley throw the gun in a river somewhere.
