Get the Glock 26!

My first gun was a Glock 27. It is a great gun. I still own it and carry it. However, I wish I had gotten a 9mm instead. Cheaper ammo and all that really matters is shot placement anyways. Practice with it.

I was drinking the .40 kool-aid when I got mine because my Dad (who was in the FBI at the time) was drinking the .40 kool aid and he talked me into it.

I went and played with a bunch of guns this morning. It's down to a Glock 26 for $518.00, a Kahr CW9 for $450.00 and Kel-Tec PF9 for $270.00. Money really is not the deciding factor. The G26 is just too thick. The Kel-Tec doesn't feel bad, but doesn't feel right and while thinner than the G26, it's still way to big to pocket carry. The PF9 really does feel great in my hand and if needed it could be stuffed into a pants pocket. I've never been a fan of bargain guns, but KT seems to be well respected in most circles. They've been around long enough to have worked their kinks out.

I love my glocks, but before you buy, look at the ruger sr9c and all the extras that come with it. Average price is around $400. Great CCW and home defense handgun.

Id go for either the 26 or 27 and be completely happy. When I got mine the 26 was what was available so I snapped it up. But I would've been just as happy with the 27. And +1 on looking at the Ruger SR9c. I like Rugers and this looks like a promising little gun.

The SR9 didn't feel right either. I'm a little biased because I don't care for Ruger. The PF9 is a handful to shoot, but after a few mags it was shooting great. In a hundred rounds I had one failure to fire which I attribute to a hard primer. Firing pin left a deep indent in the center of the primer. Overall I've got to say I'm impressed with this pistol.
